Hidden Gems: Meet Ariel Stinson of 813 Cuisine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Stinson. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Ariel Stinson

Cooking has been a passion of Ariel Allen Stinson her entire life. The 33-year-old native of Galveston, who now lives in La Marque, has pursued her passion for the past 12 years; Ariel now is serving up delectable dishes at weddings, school functions, and birthday parties, company events, etc.

Stinson is the granddaughter of one of Galveston’s most famous Black entrepreneurs -Andrew Augustus Allen Sr. Stinson states my passion for cooking comes from both of my grandparents, Gus and my maternal grandmother Anna Rose Guidry; both were amazing cooks.

Stinson gained more inspiration after living in New Orleans for five years; after being encouraged by her “husband” Jerome Stinson Jr, they both decided to start a catering company, 813 cuisines, which serves such dishes as chicken and spinach Alfredo, garlic shrimp pasta, enchilada casserole red beans and rice, seafood pasta and crawfish bread.

Stinson, whose favorite dish to make is seafood gumbo, looks forward to coming up with more new and exciting ideas to add to her menu 813 was published in Costal Magazine back in August 2021. Stinson has also been working with the youth throughout Galveston County and wants to inspire the youth.
