Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Araujo
Hi Ashley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi, I am Ashley also known as Ash! I began my nail technician career in 2018 at the age of 20. I graduated high school in 2016, and only attended one semester of college before deciding that college was not for me and dropped out. It took me 1 year and 6 months to decide what I wanted to do. I had been jumping from job to job, and I quickly realize that I wanted something more for myself. I’ve always been interested in doing nails since I was about the age of 12 or 13, but now I was at an age that I could make it happen. So I did, I took multiple nail courses from other nail technicians, and was 100% convinced that this is what I wanted to do, I wanted this to be my full time career. I enrolled in cosmetology school and completed my nail technician hours in order to receive my licensing from TDLR.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In the beauty industry is never a smooth road. I worked at a nail salon for about 2 years and you will encounter so many situations were you honestly want give up. It takes a strong, ambitious, and harding working person to hustle through the struggles of this industry. After 2 years at a nail salon, I decided that it was best for myself and my career to go on my own, but starting from SCRATCH is never easy. Trying to build a consistent amount of clientele for myself to try and make this a full time career was very hard and discouraging. Now I’m glad I was able to pull through those struggles to tell my story.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am known for being the most versatile nail technician you can work with. Show me a picture and I promise you will love your nail set, more than the inspiration picture you brought in. I am able to work with the shortest nails you can think of to the longest and most intricate nail set you can possibly imagine.
Having me as your nail technician, is me assuring with guarantee that your nails will be intact anywhere between 4-8 weeks. I only provide top-quality service and have over 100+ girls who can confirm it.
I am so proud of my growth in this industry. Being a nail technician means we are learning a new nail trend everyday. It is something we have to try to learn overnight because clients want the trendiest nails! You have to be ready for when they ask you for the new nail trend they saw on TikTok the night before.
At Ashley’s Nail Artistry we offer gel manicures, structure manicures, acrylic overlay, and acrylic extensions with the newest trends in designs, colors and charms.
What were you like growing up?
Thanks to my parents, I’ve always had a great life while growing up. I have supportive parents who were always open minded, and I was able to speak on all my interest, concerns or questions.
Finding your personality while growing up and trying to figure out who you are is never easy, I believe it is confusing no matter your age, or lifestyle but I can say I was able to figure out who I was and wanted to be at a young age.
I have always been ambitious, cool, calm and very collected and all these personalities traits are what’s helped me in the long run to become who I am now but I will always be open to more growth and knowledge.
