Hidden Gems: Meet Babongile Manciya of Glorious Creations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Babongile Manciya.

Babongile, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a South African who lives in New York. Glorious Creations was born from my love for children, learning, and creativity. I have always been passionate about early childhood education and creating meaningful learning experiences for little ones. Over time, I noticed how important it is for children to learn through play, hands on activities, and engaging resources instead of only traditional worksheets. That realization planted the seed for what would eventually become Glorious Creations. I officially started my business in 2024 with a dream of creating premium early learning resources that are both educational and beautiful. At the beginning, I had very little knowledge about running an online business.
I was learning everything from scratch : product creation, branding, marketing, social media, mockups, digital products, and understanding what parents and teachers truly need. The early days were not easy, and most people do not talk about this, I faced moments of self-doubt and discouragement. I spent countless hours designing products, improving my skills, researching trends, and trying to understand how to grow online. There were times when I worked extremely hard and still saw little results, but I refused to give up because I believed in the vision behind Glorious Creations. I always told myself, I will work, It has to work, there must be a way!

One thing that kept me going was the purpose behind my business. I wanted to create resources that help children learn in a fun, exciting, and confidence building way, I wanted parents and teachers to feel supported with activities that are easy to use while still feeling high quality and intentional. I tested some of these resources with my 4 year old son, I loved how he responded to learning through play, I saw his character come out, I saw his confidence develop and I also saw his creativity and I truly enjoyed these moments, I knew other Moms deserve these moments with their kids too. As my journey continued, I slowly started improving my branding and product presentation. I learned how important mockups, product titles and descriptions , and visual storytelling are when selling digital products online. I became more intentional about creating products that feel warm, premium, child-friendly, and visually appealing.

My business focuses mainly on early learning printable resources for toddlers and young children. Some of my products include engaging activities, flashcards, tracing activities, busy books, educational games, and interactive learning materials. I especially love creating resources that encourage hands on learning because children learn best when they are actively engaged.

I have recently added giftable items on my store such as personalized story books and personalized bedtime stories. Parents are loving this segment of the business. Social media also became a major part of my journey. I began sharing my work online, connecting with parents, teachers, and other creators. Growing online takes patience, consistency, and resilience. There were moments where growth felt slow, but every small milestone meant a lot to me because it represented progress.

One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that success rarely happens overnight. Building a business requires consistency, faith, creativity, and the willingness to keep learning even when things feel uncertain. I have had to step outside my comfort zone many times, whether it was posting online, improving my designs, or putting my work out into the world.

Today, I am proud of how far Glorious Creations has come. Even though I still have many goals and dreams for the future, I am grateful for the growth, the lessons, and the community I am building. What started as a simple idea has grown into a brand that reflects my heart, creativity, and passion for early childhood learning.

My vision for Glorious Creations is to continue creating beautiful, engaging, and meaningful educational resources that support both children and the adults teaching them. I want the brand to become a trusted space for parents and educators looking for creative learning tools that inspire joy, confidence, and development in children.

Most importantly, this journey has taught me to believe in myself, trust the process, and keep showing up even when the results are not immediate. Every design, every product, and every step forward represents persistence, growth, and passion. I am excited to see where this journey takes me next.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting any business is not smooth sailing, it comes with its challenges. A constant challenge is not having the right eyes in front of your product. traffic continues to be a challenge as i run my business online. I just wish Millions and millions of parents and teachers can see my Early Learning Resources.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I believe risk is a necessary part of growth, especially when building something meaningful from the ground up. For me, risk-taking is not always about making huge dramatic decisions, sometimes it is about believing in yourself enough to continue even when the outcome is uncertain. Starting Glorious Creations was one of the biggest risks I have taken. I started without having everything figured out. I did not have a large audience, guaranteed sales, but I had extensive business experience coming from Corporate for over 13 years.

I had a vision, a passion for early childhood learning, and the willingness to learn as I went. There were many moments where I questioned myself because building an online business can feel unpredictable. You invest time, creativity, energy, and sometimes finances into something before seeing results. That uncertainty can be intimidating. However, I realized that if I waited until everything felt perfect or completely safe, I would probably never start. Another major risk for me was consistently putting my work out publicly online. Sharing your creations, building a brand, and showing up on social media requires vulnerability. There is always the fear of being overlooked, criticized, or failing publicly. But I learned that growth only happens when you allow yourself to be seen. I have also taken creative risks by continuously improving and evolving my brand. Instead of settling for basic educational printables, I wanted Glorious Creations to feel premium, intentional, and visually beautiful. That meant investing extra time into branding, presentation, mockups, and product quality even before the business became profitable. It was a risk because there were no guarantees that the effort would immediately pay off, but I believed creating a strong brand identity would matter in the long run. My perspective on risk has changed throughout this journey. I used to think risk meant acting without fear, but now I believe real courage is moving forward despite fear and uncertainty. I think calculated risks are important because they open doors to opportunities, creativity, and personal growth. At the same time, I believe risk should be paired with patience, learning, and resilience. Not every decision works out immediately, and not every season shows visible success, but every experience teaches something valuable. Some of the most important lessons I have learned came from moments where I stepped outside my comfort zone. Overall, I see risk-taking as an important part of entrepreneurship. Building a brand requires faith in your vision long before other people fully see it. Glorious Creations exists today because I was willing to take that first step even when the future was uncertain, and I believe that willingness to keep trying, learning, and growing is one of the most rewarding risks I could have taken. Today my business makes daily sales and that comes from all the hard work and dedication.
