Hi Beth, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
During my entire life, I’ve heard my family and friends tell me that I should organize for other people. Since organizing comes naturally to me, people closest to me have noticed my talent and talked about it A LOT. In our conversations, we always said that it would be so cool if I shared my skills with others. Who knew that this idea would actually happen!?! I recently told my team that I still cannot believe that this is what we do every day. I feel so incredibly grateful that my clients reach out to me to allow us to help them in their home. At the end of every session, I love the feeling of knowing how we made a difference in someone’s everyday life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I love this question, and I’ll be totally honest. There is nothing “smooth” about owning and running a business. The hardest part is the amount of work that happens both on the job and behind the scenes to grow a business. Fortunately, I have been able to grow my team and accomplish some of my goals already. My biggest struggle is the balance of being present with my family and being able to turn work off at times. Like anything, you have no idea what goes into running a business unless you’ve experienced it yourself.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Side By Side Design Texas is a luxury professional organization business, and we help our clients with decluttering, organizing, decorating, and moving. My niche is dealing with clients who have ADHD, anxiety, and depression. As a busy mom and business owner, I understand the demands of day-to-day life. My team loves helping others, and we work hard to make sure that our clients don’t feel judged. Our work is custom to each client, their home, and their specific needs. During our sessions, we help our clients eliminate what they don’t want or use if that’s their goal. Aside from decluttering, we set up manageable systems that help the families maintain their belongings in a way that is easy from day to day. Our goal is to help our clients know where everything is located and how much they have. We help our clients save money because they no longer overbuy since they know what they currently have in their home.
What are your plans for the future?
Wow, I have so many plans. My current focus is continuing to grow my team so that we can help more clients each day. Right now, our work is centered around decluttering and organizing. In the future, I would love to expand our services to custom interior design, custom closets, remodel selections, and new build projects. After building two new homes in the past few years, I love doing it all.
