Today we’d like to introduce you to Caroline Chelette.
Hi Caroline, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always loved curating details and creating special moments through different art mediums. Before flowers, I received my degree in Retail Merchandising and Product Development. From there, I went on to become a visual stylist, creating beautiful window displays and styling mannequins in the best of the season’s fashion. While I enjoyed the fashion industry for many years, a new passion entered my life when I got engaged in 2015. The world of weddings instantly captivated me. I was completely unfamiliar with how creative weddings could be and how your flowers and details could help to tell your love story to your guests.
In the spring of 2016, I married the love of my life but felt a tinge of sadness as that meant I was also done being a part of the wedding world. This feeling inside of me led me to make some unexpected changes in my life. Within a few weeks of our wedding I was interning with a local florist, learning everything I could about weddings and flowers. I loved every minute of it! From learning how to design a bridesmaid bouquet to scrubbing flower buckets till my fingers were wrinkled, I was hooked. After a year of internships and freelancing for other talented floral designers, I took a leap of faith and started Moonstruck Florals.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I first started Moonstruck Florals, I definitely felt like I was in over my head. While the creative and design aspect came easily to me , the financials and advertising struggled. Luckily my husband and family have always been so supportive in this journey and helped me a lot in this area. I’ve had to dive in and learn a lot throughout the years through different business courses and books but the outcome has been very rewarding. Having recently moved to the Houston area, we are, in some ways, starting the business over. With that comes a whole new list of challenges ahead but also so many new possibilities and people to connect with!

Moonstruck Florals is a boutique floral design studio specializing in whimsical, romantic arrangements for weddings and special events. We take joy in building an intimate connection with our clients to co-create a one-of-a-kind floral experience for our couples and their guests. Our garden-inspired designs transform spaces small and large into a living canvas that reflects their design aesthetic and personalities. We love creating large scale floral installations like lush floral arches and hanging floral clouds that create a magical evening for everyone enjoying them.
What does success mean to you?
Within Moonstruck Florals, success is handing the bride her bridal bouquet and watching her entire face light up and maybe a few happy tears streaming down her face. Being able to be a small part of one your most anticipated life events and creating joy for my clients through flowers will always be so special and something I’ll never take for granted.
