Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrington Johnson.
Hi Carrington, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Infinite Hookah (Infinite) was founded in 2021 by Carrington Johnson (CJ) and brought on Michael Chevalier (Mike) as a business partner in 2022. CJ is from and currently lives in Dallas, while Mike is from and currently lives in Houston. We both graduated from the prominent Prairie View A & M University and crossed Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
We believe, the rapid growth in hookah culture has led to a decline in quality. It eventually became to a point where “good” hookah was hard to find. So, the idea behind starting a hookah catering company was to raise the standard of the average hookah smoker’s, smoke experience. We also ensure to serve a diverse community. Our clients range from young adults to mature crowds, representing Black, White, Hispanic, Indian, and many other cultural backgrounds. Hookah transcends culture, and so does our brand.
Before Mike C became a partner, he was actually one of my very first clients — booking me to provide a hookah experience for his birthday party. Over time, he began assisting with events, and it wasn’t long before I approached him about officially expanding Infinite to Houston under his leadership. He agreed, we invested in new hookahs, and together we elevated the business to the next level.
Fast forward to today — Infinite Hookah now owns over 30 premium hookah pipes and has provided service for more than 40 private parties and 30 public events. We’re currently developing marketing strategies to expand our reach while continuing to deliver quality, affordable hookah experiences to our Houston and Dallas communities.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a seamless journey growing the business . While we’ve been fortunate to serve a diverse range of clients and events across multiple locations, the path has come with its share of challenges — from events where not a single hookah was sold to partnerships and contracts that unexpectedly fell through. Moreover, as the hookah industry grows more saturated, many clubs and lounges have shifted toward managing their own in-house hookah operations instead of partnering with outside vendors.

The characteristic that I feel is most important to my success is not just the quality of our products but prioritizing customer satisfaction. Which means remaining professional in everything we do, ensuring each hookah is made to perfection, and providing elite service. We seek feedback and swiftly address and correct any concerns a customer may have before, during, or after their smoke session.
