Today we’d like to introduce you to Charde’ Walker
Hi Charde’, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Since I was a young girl I knew I wanted to help people and be an “important person”. I viewed important people as doctors, lawyers, and engineers. The only issue was, I didn’t know many. However, during my high school career, after experiencing my own trauma, I met a therapist. I was in awe of her concern with my life and her intention to help me through it. And then it hit me.. therapist get to help everybody, including those “important people”. I graduated from Dekaney high school, prairie view a&m – you know! And lastly, UT Arlington. I received my degrees in clinical social work. Between 2018 and 2023, I completed roughly 6 internships, over 7,000 hours of supervised experience and passed three state exams to land myself into private practice.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Oh absolutely not. I mean, diamonds form under pressure right? I guess what I’m trying to say is- I had a plan, I was determined and dedicated however that did not stop life from life-ing along the way. I experienced racial profiling at certain jobs, I experienced mean supervisors, I was often underpaid, I experienced loss and so many health issues. Through it all, I had to keep telling myself, “someone, somewhere needs you to keep it together” so I did.

I am currently licensed in Texas, with 6 years of professional experience. I have experience helping clients process trauma, manage anxiety, work through relationship issues, increase confidence, and decrease depressive symptoms. I strongly believe that people are the expert of their story, and that they have many strengths that will assist them in overcoming things that challenge them. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower them in that journey.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I truly believe what has helped me become successful is my authenticity. Therapy with me is like racing home after a long day to tell your friend how your day went. I do my best to create a safe and non intimidating space.
