

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charlie Bingham
Hi Charlie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My background is hospitality – running large health clubs in a GM capacity – lots of members and lots of staff. I enjoy helping people but after 20 years of people management I wanted to start my own business, working for myself. I passed my Real Estate qualifications and became an active Realtor in March of 2022. I love houses, I love meeting and helping people and I love negotiating. I have a keen eye for detail after 20 years of management and I find this is key when looking at homes and understanding any potential issues they may have and also ensuring that paperwork is done right. I have a high level of conscientiousness and like doing right by my clients and the other agents I work alongside.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have loved it. Talking to other agents, they tell you they are always learning. You have to be open minded and not be afraid to tell a client (if something is new or you have not faced the same challenges for a while) – that you will get counsel before advising them the right course of action. Classes teach you the basics of RE but nothing beats working in the field. Each situation is different and all deals have their own nuances. You have to be nimble. I always build close relationships with colleagues, so I can ask the prevalent questions and expand my knowledge, while offering the best counsel and advise to my clients.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about NAN AND COMPANY PROPERTIES?
Nan was set up 11 years ago by Wife and Husband team – Nancy & Jose Almodovar. They have huge passion for the business and bring a lot of experience to the company. From the first interview, I loved the passion and energy from the whole company – everyone you meet is hard working, professional but has an appetite for life. I am proud that my company is within the Luxury RE companies of the World. Nancy and other agents in Nan have sold some of the most expensive real estate in the city and I want to work with agents and owners like that. The company also believes in giving back and I am proud that we have a big heart when it comes to helping those less well off in our community.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck is an interesting word – you have to have the confidence to try things. I know many people who are stuck in a rut – I always encourage them that life is not a dress rehearsal – if something is not right with your life, then do something about it. I have a very high appetite for life and try and stay really busy to take advantage of all the great things there are to do, people to meet and places to see. I have lived in 5 different countries in my life, travelled round the globe twice and visited over 90 countries. I have met so many great people along the way. In my second fill year in real estate, I did over $15M in transactions – listing and selling 10 homes and helping 17 buyers to buy their homes. I don’t think luck has as much to do with this as a positive mental attitude.
