Today we’d like to introduce you to Chassidy Grady.
Hi Chassidy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Ever since I was younger, wayyy back in Elementary school, I always wanted to work in the Accounting field. I have always been fascinated with numbers and was great at Math. My Elementary school had a Nations Bank (now known as Bank of America) to instill financial literacy to students at an early age, and I worked as a bank teller and to this day, I can still picture myself being at my teller booth helping my fellow classmates deposit their money into their savings accounts.
After applying to UT Austin’s Business School and not getting accepted into my first choice major my dreams of working in Accounting was placed on hold. Because UT was my dream school, I enrolled into my second major that I was accepted in which was Social Work and I started my career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker working primarily with adults facing crisis issues in their life since I also felt a need to help an at-risk group of people due to being considered an ‘at-risk’ teenager.
Now circling back, I’m fulfilling my initial passion and first true love of working in the accounting field, but now I get to work in this field with a true purpose. I get to serve a community of professionals who have a deep desire to change people’s lives for the better, but they feel stuck and stressed due to not understanding the accounting aspect of their business and that’s where I come in.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In anything that you do, you may find yourself running into a few bumps here and there. For me, I would say when I first started my Accounting business, a challenge was associating with people to help me improve in areas that I needed improvement in. I don’t believe that I’m a ‘know it all’ and I’m always a student and finding the right people to learn from was a challenge initially however the beauty of life is that you don’t give up even if you have not so great experiences with people. I believe everyone needs a mentor in their business no matter the field that you are in and I’m happy to say that I have a great Mentor to go to when I need them.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Grady Tax Plus LLC?
I created Grady Tax Plus LLC to provide Business Startup, Tax & Bookkeeping Services to Service-Based Providers such as Counselors, Consultants, Coaches & Content Creators who are new in business to reduce their stress by maximizing their tax savings and keeping their business finances organized so they can focus on what they do best… TRANSFORMING Lives! I am most known for making sure that the community I serve understands their business structure, understand their tax situation and keeping their business finances organized. Those 3 things go hand in hand in having a solid foundation for your business.
What sets me apart is that I am the audience that I serve and my clients resonate with me because they know I know the ins and outs of their business. I find that sometimes it takes being a part of a particular community in order to know how to serve that community. As I mentioned before, I have a background as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and in going to school to pursue that particular career, I noticed there was a lack in educating new counselors about how to set up their practices, understanding the tax implications for being in business, and having their business finances organized so that they can make good business decisions such as paying themselves appropriately and tax planning. So that’s where my company steps in to fill in this hole that is missing. I am a Tax Advisor and am licensed as an IRS Enrolled Agent which is the highest credential that the IRS gives for Tax Professionals. Additionally, I am a Natural Hair Influencer and Coach where I have helped thousands of women learn how to grow long natural hair which connects me with serving content creators in my Accounting Firm.
I am most proud that I have been able to educate new business owners about the steps that it takes to properly structure their businesses, stay on top of their taxes and tax savings, and have their business finances organized. I recognize that this is a stressor for the community that I serve and hearing from my clients that I gave them confidence and gave them awareness about the foundation of their business and that they feel relieved that they can now show up proudly in their business for their clients, warms my heart.
Working with us will help you feel confident in knowing that you have an advocate to maximize your tax savings and minimize your tax liability. That the foundation of your business will be properly set up and managed so that there’s no cracks. Your time and energy should be focused on making an impact on others’ lives instead of stressing about your business taxes and finances.
I’m big on educating business owners, and I go Live every Tuesday providing Tax Tips on my Facebook page. I help my clients and community through workshops, speaking engagements, one on one consultations, tax preparation, tax planning services, and my signature VIP Bookkeeping services which includes having continuous and ongoing support in your business which is crucial for new business owners. I provide 100% virtual services with the exception of in-person speaking engagements.
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I learned that it is okay to ask for help. Don’t stress yourself out trying to figure something out on your own regarding something that is ‘above your pay grade.’ What I mean by this is if you are not getting paid to do a certain thing in your business, then don’t stress yourself out by not seeking out help in this area. Thus, if you are not getting paid to do the accounting in your business, then your time and efforts shouldn’t be spent trying to fulfill this role for your business.
