Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Clarke.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started Clarke Bioscience after witnessing the near miraculous results my father, who is a physician, was getting from his patients in the rehabilitation hospitals. He had developed a neurochemical protocol based off of his Ph.D. in neuropharmacology and cell biology that he was using in concert with conventional rehabilitation programs on his head injury, stroke, spinal cord, and neurologic degenerative diseases.
I had brought the idea up to him that his protocols should be physical products, and they should be available to everyone, not just a few patients he was able to see one on one in the hospital. So I did just that. I took the neuro regenerative protocols he had implemented in the hospitals and created Neupanex®, a daily single-serving drink mix that augments the brain’s natural healing process.
Since its inception, we have received a patent on Neupanex® for not only the formula but the use. We manufacture Neupanex® here in Houston, and its packaged just outside of Dallas. It was very important personally, for this to be a Texas product. I wanted all the manufacturing and packaging to be done in this great state. Neupanex® has been sent all over the world, from Europe to Australia, but at its core, it is a home-grown Texas product.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This has not been a smooth road, as with any new business. The most significant struggles that have arisen have been the regulatory aspect of dietary supplements in this particular neuro space. We have seen some amazing objective data from internal studies that have been completed. However, because we are classified as a dietary supplement, we are bound by FDA labeling requirements.
Another significant struggle is the professional education of physicians and other healthcare professionals with regard to the scientific benefit of this supplement. The bottom line is that Neupanex® is a dietary supplement, and most healthcare professionals do not believe that a “supplement” can benefit someone the way that Neupanex® does. There are a few “jedi” doctors that are up to date on the most cutting-edge scientific discoveries that have come out from around the world that subscribe to the powerful benefits Neupanex® has on the brain. Unfortunately, they are few and far between.
We’ve been impressed with Clarke Bioscience, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
As an entrepreneur, the capacity to evaluate risk versus benefit is at the very core of who we are. We are gamblers through and through. Every small business owner makes the choice to forego the guarantee of a steady paycheck, health benefits, financial security, and a 401k to venture out into the unknown of making an idea into reality. Will the public accept the new idea? Or will the fledgling entrepreneur burn through their savings, investments in time and energy at the cost of a home life for naught? Risk-taking, to me, is the seasoning to the buffet of entrepreneurialism. It is spice, sweet, and sometimes can be too salty. Risk, however, is also what makes the process so enjoyable. I think it is a huge part of why people set out to start their own businesses.
