Today we’d like to introduce you to Cinthia Barrientos.
Hi Cinthia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started after my 3 month old baby caught Covid while in day care. I knew since then I had to find a career that would accommodate a mom’s schedule, so I decided in looking for options. I came across a position from home as a customer service for an insurance company. They paid for my training, license and they even sent me the computer to work in.
That only lasted a couple of months because although I was at home, it seemed as if I wasn’t because I was stuck in a phone for at least eight hours so I left the job now I have my license as an insurance agent and I proceeded into looking for an insurance position and I did but kinda like a self contracted. I managed to get under an agency with great training, awesome tools to succeed, and after that, I kept looking for different services I could add on I love helping people I love helping my community and in our community, which is Hispanic you find that our people are really not informed of many things. By this time, I also have my notary certification so I started offering notary services mobile services rather than just traditional notary services nowadays people prefer you come to them or get everything done remotely. I included tax services. I did some training as well, always preparing myself for what I’m going to offer. I started offering ITIN services as well which is an application to gather your IT number to pay taxes to the IRS. Aside from all of this, I was helping my daca holders, which was renewing their daca every two years; for me I can tell you it was something simple but for them It wasn’t because they don’t know the paperwork they don’t have time or they simply just don’t want to Deal with the questions and then I started getting many refills that was just telling me I was doing something good and it felt great helping my people many of my clients are from out of state. I would say 90% of them are out of state virtual clients after about a year or two I decided I needed to get into an office to make it more professional because I was working from home thank God he made it possible. His timing is perfect. I was able to rent an office private office just for my clients and this is where we are at now and it all comes back to being able to pick up my kids from school to take them to the doctor when they need to to stay at home if they are sick and continue working from home, I never stopped working as I never stop learning. It’s fundamental for me to offer a great service to my clients. I have to know what I’m doing in order to be able to help them. I feel blessed because not many are able to have this to have the comfort to Work From Home if if my kids are sick I’m able to stay with them. I’m a family woman. It’s all about my family. I go out. I go out to the park with my kids or have family gatherings stay at home have a cookout play Loteria. It makes me happy three things in life that are important for me in this order God, FAMILY and WORK I thank God for everything I have because he gives and he takes. family my why and work it I love what I do, it completes me.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve had some struggles and that was when I had a client that wanted to meet in person. I had to find an office that I could rent just for that one day and for that one hour or two and it was not easy I would pray and pray to find an office and affordable office because I had just started I had just Started this journey as an entrepreneur when I had to send documents to a client that is out of state I had to go to FedEx and print and prepare everything there and then mail out. It was time consuming. I didn’t have the comfort of doing everything in an office.
