Today we’d like to introduce you to Ellen Pool.
Hi Ellen, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born and raised in Houston, I know this beautiful city well. My growing-up years were spent in Southeast Houston, and I’ve lived all over the city throughout my Real Estate career. I began working in new home sales in my early twenties, and have spent time in many sectors of Real Estate, including the title! Residential real estate has my heart, and I’ve spent the majority of my twenty-plus years in the business helping families find their perfect homes.
Todd and I married in 2001, and settled in the Magnolia area nearly a decade ago. We homeschooled our daughter Zoe through her graduation, and recently sent her off as a sophomore STEM major at Oral Roberts University.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We have faced many challenges, none more exciting than Hurricane Harvey! The demand and shortages in building materials created such headaches for our clients building new construction. We worked hard to ensure that everyone was taken care of, and ended up in homes that they loved!
Another obstacle we’ve faced has been the impact of Covid on this market, the effects of which have created an interesting housing situation. We’ve always been very creative and solution-driven for our clients, and the unique challenge of a low inventory market and extremely high demand has offered us the opportunity to hone our skills. I am very proud of our tenacity – we have been able to help a record number of families during this season!
We’ve been impressed with Pool Realty Group, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the Broker & Co-Owner of Pool Realty Group, alongside my husband Todd. I have been licensed since 2001, and am a specialist in new construction, relocation, first time homebuyers and the luxury market.
One of the unique things that we bring to the table, is that I spent almost 19 years onsite with new home builders in the Houston and Dallas areas, while my husband began his Real Estate career in the 1980s, and has been a custom home builder for over 20 years. With extensive experience in new home sales, custom home building, property management and residential real estate, we are a powerhouse team who offers unparalleled service and unique skill sets. Our clients benefit greatly from our experience in so many areas of real estate, including time working for a title company, as well as the advantage of having direct access to an expert in the construction industry.
We are constantly learning, always adding to our banks of real estate knowledge, in order to serve our clients better and better. We are members of the Houston Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors, and National Association of Realtors.
How do you think about happiness?
My family is my greatest joy! Doing what I love for a living allows me to invest time and love into my family, and nothing could make me happier!
