Hidden Gems: Meet Emily Lyons of Luxe Training Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Lyons.

Hi Emily, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I came into the beauty industry through hands-on work in hair and makeup, building my career in real time with real clients. I spent years behind the scenes of weddings, events, and high-pressure environments where timing, professionalism, and consistency weren’t optional. Through my work with my Hair and Makeup Business, Exquisite Reflections, I led teams, serviced thousands of clients, and learned firsthand what it takes to deliver excellence under pressure.

Working in bridal and event artistry gave me a front-row seat to the realities of this industry. I saw how much trust clients place in us, how important preparation and communication are, and how quickly things fall apart when systems are missing. I also saw incredibly talented artists struggle…not because they lacked creativity, but because they were never taught how to operate as professionals. Many didn’t understand pricing, contracts, client boundaries, or how to build confidence in their work. That gap was impossible for me to ignore.

As my career grew, so did my role as a mentor and leader. I found myself training team members, refining processes, creating standards, and coaching artists through both skill development and mindset shifts. Education became a natural extension of my work, not because it’s what I wanted to focus on at the time, but as a response to what I was seeing every day in the field. Artists didn’t need more inspiration…they needed structure, clarity, and real-world preparation.

That realization led me to build Luxe Training Company and develop The Luxe Method™, a proprietary approach to beauty education that integrates technical skill, business strategy, financial literacy, and professional posture. The method is rooted in experience…what actually works behind the chair, on wedding days, and in running a sustainable beauty business.

Today, as Founder and Executive Director of Luxe Training Company, I oversee structured online education through the Luxe Online Platform and specialty certification programs designed around accountability and excellence. Every course is intentionally built to prepare artists not just to perform services, but to build careers with longevity and confidence.

My work is driven by a simple belief: beauty education should reflect the realities of the industry it serves. When artists are trained with high standards, clear systems, and a strong sense of professionalism, they tend to thrive. That is the standard I continue to build at Luxe.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. I think anything done with depth won’t be easy 🙂 One of the biggest challenges has been finding the right people to partner with along the journey…individuals who share the same standards, work ethic, and long-term vision. Alignment matters, and learning when to move forward together or independently has been a necessary part of growth.

Another ongoing challenge has been identifying students who truly want to turn their passion into profession. Talent is important, but commitment is essential. Education only works when the student is willing to do the work. My role has been to guide and support that effort by providing a clear blueprint… one that gives direction, structure, and traction… while holding students accountable to their own potential.

Those challenges shaped how Luxe operates today, with a strong focus on alignment, standards, and real-world readiness.

As you know, we’re big fans of Luxe Training Company. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Luxe Training Company is an education-first beauty brand built to bridge the gap between creativity and professionalism. We specialize in preparing artists to turn their passion into a sustainable profession through structured, standards-driven education.

What sets Luxe apart is our intentional approach. Every program is built on The Luxe Method™, a proprietary framework that integrates technical skill, business strategy, financial awareness, and professional posture. We don’t just teach how to perform a service…we teach how to operate as a professional in the real world.

Luxe is known for clarity, accountability, and high standards. From online education through the Luxe Online Platform to specialty certifications and the development of a more to come, our focus is on real-world readiness, not shortcuts or hype.

What I’m most proud of is the integrity of the brand. Luxe attracts students who are serious about growth and educators who are committed to excellence. For anyone considering their next step in beauty education, I want them to know this: Luxe is designed for those who are ready to do the work, be guided by a proven blueprint, and build something that lasts.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My family and my children are what bring me the greatest sense of joy. They keep me grounded and remind me why the work matters. Beyond that, helping others recognize their potential…and watching them step into it with confidence… that element is deeply fulfilling. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone realize they’re capable of more than they ever imagined. It’s that moment for me that I love to be a part of.
