Hidden Gems: Meet Enrique Arriens of Pets Tribe

Enrique, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Our journey in pet care began over a decade ago in Costa Rica, where we founded a boarding and daycare business called “PerruTribu.” At that time, we were inspired by our own family: we had young children and wanted to create a loving and trustworthy environment for pets, similar to the one we desired for our own children.

In 2021, we moved to the United States and had to start anew. We launched Pets Tribe Mobile Grooming, bringing our pet care expertise to a new community. Over time, our business grew, and we are now thrilled to open a new facility that allows us to once again offer our full range of boarding and daycare services, just as we did in Costa Rica.

Today, we offer mobile grooming, boarding, and daycare services, serving families in Katy, Richmond, Cinco Ranch, Fulshear, and the surrounding areas. We are proud to combine our years of experience with a family-oriented approach, treating every pet as part of our own family and creating a safe, loving, and stress-free experience for both pets and their owners.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Language has undoubtedly been one of our main challenges, but with patience and dedication, we have created a concept that has been warmly received by our clients. The fact that many clients have been coming to us since 2022 shows that language is not a barrier—our love for what we do transcends words.

Our journey hasn’t always been easy. Moving to a new country and starting from scratch in the United States was a huge challenge; we had to rebuild our business from the ground up without the resources we had in Costa Rica. Learning to navigate a new market, understanding local regulations, and earning the trust of a new community were all obstacles we had to overcome.

What has helped us succeed is perseverance, adaptability, and a deep passion for what we do. Each challenge taught us valuable lessons and strengthened our commitment to providing the best care for pets and their families. Today, we are proud to continue growing, offering mobile grooming as well as comprehensive daycare and boarding services, while sharing our family-oriented approach with the community.

We’ve been impressed with Pets Tribe, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Pets Tribe is a mobile pet grooming and comprehensive care company that also offers daycare and boarding services, inspired by our love for animals and family values. We specialize in personalized, stress-free grooming for dogs and cats, and our clients consistently tell us how much they appreciate our punctuality, exceptional customer service, and the high quality of our work. Many even mention that their dogs smell wonderful for a week after their grooming session!

What sets us apart is our compassionate approach: we never force pets during grooming and always prioritize their comfort and well-being. In our daycare and boarding services, dogs enjoy a safe and loving environment, filled with playtime, attention, and affection, ensuring they are happy and stress-free while their owners are away.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
A significant memory is that I always dreamed of visiting other countries. From a young age, I was curious about the world beyond what I could see, wondering about different places, cultures, and ways of life. I talked about traveling, learning from others, and building a future without borders.

That dream stayed with me and, over time, became part of our family’s story. Moving to a new country and founding Pets Tribe from scratch in the United States is, in many ways, the realization of that childhood dream: proof that curiosity, courage, and vision can shape the life you build.
