Erika Prothow, the founder of Teavotion Tea Company, embarked on a remarkable journey in 2022, establishing her own loose-leaf tea business. Inspired by cherished memories of enjoying tea with her late mother, Erika made it her mission to pass down this beautiful tradition to her family and friends. With a deep-rooted love for tea, she poured her passion into creating a brand that would provide exceptional tea experiences to others.
Erika’s unfolding success as an entrepreneur can be attributed to God’s faithfulness plus some elbow grease and audacity! She poured countless hours into researching and sourcing the finest loose-leaf teas from around the world. Erika’s dedication extended beyond the quality of her products; she tirelessly sought opportunities to grow her business.
Her resilience and determination have propelled Teavotion Tea Company to thrive from farmers markets, to being in hotels, boutiques, and coffee shops, to opening her first gift store for all things tea party named E.Free’s On Main. E.Free’s On Main, located in historic Downtown Conroe carries over 15 Teavotion Tea blends plus teaware, gifts, and tea attire. Tea samples are available daily so steep by for tea time anytime!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Building a company in the midst of loosing my Mother, who was not only my mom but also my friend, has been challenging emotionally. It has also given me wind beneath my wings, propelling me during tough moments of insecurity, exhaustion, or uncertainty.
I am learning to press on anyway as the ebbs and flows of life are necessary for good balance of gratitude and grit.
