Today we’d like to introduce you to Hector Rodriguez
Hi Hector, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
After serving in the Marine corps from 2013-2017 , I got out with the thought that I wanted to be a business owner and successful in something just didn’t know what to do. I grew up in the construction industry, my father would set up scaffolds for masonry trades.
I started attending Lone star college in September 2017 for a construction management degree and working part time for my Godfather who owns and runs a high end residential remodeling company. Started as a helper, carrying tools, picking up trash, translating to homeowners , and delivering materials to the jobsites. He has taught me everything I know and I am so thankful for him in my life.
I Eventually became a Project Manager and learned to manage my own projects.
Worked for him from Sep 2017 to Sep 2023 as a project manager, managing, bidding and budgeting projects.
On January 2024, I decided to fully go on my own with HR Remodeling & Construction, focused on providing high end remodeling services. We focus on high end kitchens, patios, painting and all residential construction. We currently have about 4-5 active projects. A team of 4 employees with a team of 30+ subcontractors.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been an easy road ,
Once you start running a business full time, you are working 24/7.
A lot of losses that have turned into lessons.
Wearing all the hats at the beginning to build a brand and a reputation.
