Hi Jen, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have held multiple roles within Corporate America, and during the pandemic I had some time to self reflect and realized that having just one source of income was too risky. I wanted to create an additional stream of revenue for myself and through conversations and networking ended up embarking on a journey to procure an existing business that had been a staple of the community since 1983. I had attended high school in that area and knew it well and I decided to purchase the business.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Anything but smooth :)…however if things were smooth you wouldn’t really grow. The business is quite complex, it revolves around allot of partnership and guidelines. It is very cyclical, so having multiple streams of revenue within the business is important. Some months one stream of revenue is doing better than others, however if done right, all balances out in the end.
