Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Boudreaux.
Please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Jennifer Boudreaux is a franchise owner of Over The Top Cake Supplies in The Woodlands Texas. Jennifer spent several years tinkering and refining her skills and talents before entering the cake decorating world and starting her own cottage baking business called Jenn Bakes Cakes. Jennifer has been wowing her customers with realistic custom cake and cookie creations ever since. Jennifer spends most of her time now working in and running her supply store but still finds time to compete in cake decorating competitions.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
As with any new endeavor there are always bumps and challenges to overcome. One challenge we experienced was trying to identify the right avenue for getting recognized and known in the area. We tried a lot of different marketing and advertising programs until we found the right ones that worked for us but it wasn’t easy getting out there and seen. Even after five years of being open, we still have so many people come in and say, “I never knew you were here, have you been open long?” We get a kick out of it every time!
Of course, last year was a big challenge with the Pandemic. We had to get very creative in order to remain open and make sure we could continue to provide our customers with the baking and decorating supplies they needed. Adapting and remaining flexible was key to staying open and ensuring all of our employees remained employed and paid during the tough times.

Over The Top Cake Supplies is not only a supplies store, we also offer group classes, summer camps, private events and even birthday parties! We offer a variety of classes from Basics 101 to Anti-Gravity cakes! We provide all the supplies so just bring yourself, your friends, your creativity and your sweet tooth!
We Love Baking and we think it’s something everyone can learn. There is nothing better than having a customer return to our store with pictures and a smile to show off their recent creation. We love to be a part of that joy and pride!

To keep looking. Be willing to talk to anyone but know that there is always someone else. Another angle, another way of thinking, another route to try.
