Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Davis.
Hi Jessica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Coming into my own as a healer has been a major part of my own healing journey. I needed to do some healing of my own before I had any business facilitating others. I am now borderline obsessed with the world of healing. I was actually licensed in 2000 but did not start practicing full time until 2012. Fear was a big part of that. I had been going to a holistic doctor for about nine months and was in the process of transforming my own health and perspective on life when a major shake up with a lay off happened in my life and led me to take a chance on my bodywork skills. I am still on that journey thirteen years later.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely been a road with its share of bumps. I started out in October 2012 massaging for others for the first few years of my career. Then I began straddling working for others while starting my own space in the East End in 2015, stepping out completely on my own by 2016. In 2017, I had to move and landed in Third Ward where I have been ever since. Rough patches such as hurricane Harvey, Covid and personal losses definitely made the typical struggles of a small business owner that much worse.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Full Circle Healing Massage & Bodywork, LLC?
I tailor each client’s experience per their needs using a versatile range from Swedish to Deep Tissue techniques, Massage Cupping & IASTM modalities, Myofascial Release and Pin & Stretch as needed. I also offer Scar Work, Prenatal, Craniosacral Therapy, Facial Cupping, Theragun and Lymphatic Drainage. FCH is an inclusive & safe space, including covid safe precautions.
My mission is to provide a safe space to teach people that often physical pains and restrictions are not simply a matter of aging. We do not have to accept that. But that it is a matter of time and what we do with it. That a consistent self-care routine including massage therapy truly can improve quality of life. To teach clients about self-care tools that can be used in between sessions to accentuate the work we do in session as well as to provide access to those tools. To keep people active and doing the things they love. Taking care of family, business and community starts with taking care of self.
Also 60 minutes is 60 minutes. You pay for an hour of bodywork. You will receive an hour of bodywork. (Sessions may be shortened per late arrivals.)
What matters most to you?
Improving and maintaining peoples’ quality of life because everything else in life stems out from there. We have maintenance done on our cars and our homes but often neglect our most important asset, our bodies. We need to make sure we are making time to give back and replenish our bodies from all that we take out if it everyday. My goal is to keep people active and doing the things they love.
