From Remodeling Dreams to a Sparkling Success: The Journey of Our Cleaning Business
In April of 2020, my husband and I embarked on an ambitious journey that would change our lives forever. Fueled by our dreams, we launched a remodeling and painting business and poured all our savings into it. We envisioned transforming homes and creating beautiful spaces. However, despite our best efforts, the venture didn’t pan out as we had hoped. The challenges were daunting, and we found ourselves at a crossroads.
It was during this difficult time that we stumbled upon a hidden gem—a cleaning service. While working on various remodeling projects, we often encountered homes and businesses that struggled with cleanliness after renovations. This sparked an idea in our minds. Why not offer a service that not only cleans but revitalizes spaces, making them shine again?
After doing some research and gathering support from Family, each other & the Katy community, we decided to shift our focus entirely to starting a cleaning business in May 2022. With renewed determination, we invested every ounce of energy into this new venture. We realized that cleanliness was a service that many in our community needed, and we were ready to fulfill that need.
Thanks to the warm reception and encouraging feedback from our locals, we began to gain momentum. Our very first clients believed in us, taking a chance on our brand-new service. These initial experiences were a rollercoaster of learning and growing. From understanding different cleaning techniques to mastering customer service, we adapted and evolved as we built our business from the ground up.
Fast forward to May 2026, and as we near the three-year milestone of our cleaning business, we couldn’t be more grateful. We’ve gone from starting with nothing to serving a vibrant community in Katy and even reaching clients downtown, Richmond, Cypress Fulshear and more. Each day brings new opportunities to make spaces cleaner and brighter, and we’re reminded of how far we’ve come.
Our story is not just about resilience but also about the incredible support we’ve received from our community and the clients who trusted us. We’re thankful for the friendships we’ve forged and the loyal customers who have recommended our services. With every clean home and satisfied client, we’re reminded of our journey from setbacks to successes.
While the road was not always smooth, it led us to discover our true passion—cleaning and serving our community with dedication. As we continue to grow and thrive, we’re excited about the future and the countless homes we’ll help sparkle along the way. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. There have been several challenges we faced along the way. One of the biggest hurdles for us as a new cleaning business was establishing our name and getting our local community to recognize us. When we first started, we knew we had a great service to offer, but it took time and effort to build that brand awareness.
Marketing ourselves effectively was crucial. We tried various strategies, from social media advertising to word-of-mouth referrals, but getting our name out there consistently was a struggle. It’s something many small businesses don’t talk about enough—the challenge of creating visibility in a competitive market.
Another significant struggle was the financial aspect of running a startup. Bringing in enough money to reinvest in our business was particularly tough. I remember many nights feeling anxious about finances and wondering how we would keep things afloat. We often had to rely on our personal savings and make sacrifices to ensure we could afford to promote our name and services. It felt like a constant juggling act between paying bills and investing in marketing to grow.
While these struggles were tough, they also taught us invaluable lessons. They pushed us to be creative and resourceful, and ultimately, they made us stronger as business owners. Through perseverance and the support of our community, we’ve made it through those challenging times, and I believe those experiences shaped who we are today.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Growing up as the oldest of eight children, I have so many cherished memories, but one that stands out the most is our Saturday mornings together. Those mornings were special; my siblings and I would gather in our living room, excited for the weekend. We’d spend hours watching TV, laughing, and playing games together.
It wasn’t just about the shows; it was that sense of togetherness and the joys of childhood that really made those moments unforgettable. Those Saturday mornings with my siblings laid the foundation for the strong bonds we share today, and I often reflect on those carefree times with a smile.
