Hi Jessica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Jessica, and I’m the owner of Flash Forward Productions + Media. While in college, a close friend asked me to film her wedding on 8/8/2008 so her family in China could be part of the day. That one moment sparked a passion for storytelling and capturing life’s most meaningful moments. What began with a single wedding has since grown into a full-scale media company built on connection, creativity, and purpose.
The name “Flash Forward” is more than a clever nod to the camera gear we use—it’s inspired by our beloved GoldenDoodle, Flash, who’s been by our side through countless shoots and milestones. It also represents our vision: always moving forward, always creating, always telling stories that matter.
Since 2009, we’ve had the honor of capturing over a thousand weddings and special events. Along the way, we’ve expanded our team and our services to include not only wedding photography and videography but also branded content, commercial media, social media content creation, and more.
At our core, we’re visual storytellers. Whether we’re preserving your wedding day or helping you build your brand, our mission is to connect with every client and create something that feels personal, intentional, and timeless.
We’re based in the Houston–Galveston area and ready to travel wherever your story leads. The future is bright—and we’re just getting started.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges has been building a team that shares the same passion for storytelling. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to work alongside incredibly talented people in the industry and to build a strong team of photographers and cinematographers who truly care about the stories we tell.

Flash Forward Productions + Media is a full-service photo, video, and content creation company rooted in storytelling and connection. What began with filming a single wedding for a friend whose family couldn’t attend has grown into a multi-disciplinary media brand serving weddings, events, businesses, schools, nonprofits, and industrial clients across Texas and beyond. At our core, we exist to help people feel seen—and to preserve moments and stories that matter.
We specialize in cinematic wedding photography and videography, brand storytelling, social media content creation, commercial and corporate media, and community-driven projects. We’re known for emotional, intentional visuals that feel authentic rather than staged—whether that’s a wedding day, a brand launch, a nonprofit fundraiser, or a recruitment video. Our work blends artistry with strategy, meaning every photo and video is created with purpose, audience, and impact in mind.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible support of my family, teachers, mentors, clients, and teammates. From the very beginning, I was surrounded by people who believed in me—sometimes before I fully believed in myself.
One of the most influential mentors in my early career was Candace Byers, a seasoned photographer who took me under her wing when I was just starting out. She generously shared her knowledge, experience, and guidance, helping me build a strong foundation not only in photography, but in professionalism and confidence as a creative business owner.
I also owe a great deal to Professional Photographers of America. In those early years, I attended every course, workshop, and event I could, soaking up as much education as possible from industry leaders and fellow professionals. That commitment to continual learning shaped both my skill set and my mindset.
My family and friends have been unwavering cheerleaders—supporting me through long days, growing pains, and milestones, and helping spread the word about my business through referrals and genuine word of mouth. Their belief and encouragement have meant more than they’ll ever know.
Most importantly, the backbone of Flash Forward Productions + Media is our team. Our everyday employees are the ones who keep the company moving forward with care, creativity, and consistency. Sarah, Chelsey, and Jacey each play a vital role in our day-to-day operations, client experience, and creative output. They are the true heartbeat of Flash Forward, and this business would not be what it is today without their dedication, talent, and passion.
