Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathon Lewis.
Hi Jonathon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I played basketball from high school and some college but I dropped out of college early and went straight into the travel industry. I had an amazing opportunity to work with a billion dollar group travel company that allowed me to travel, learn the industry from experts, make money, and grow a huge network. I did that for 5 years. after seeing things that I felt I could do better or different I eventually left that company and started JetQuest in 2020. covid slowed us down for about a year and a half but I quickly pivoted and started attacking every place that was open or had the least restrictions. fast forward I have done 19 group trips with jetquest and we are starting to scale and recruit other host into our company.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely was not smooth ive lost money, made mistakes, lost teammates, had to fire people, have to beat the learning curve of being a founder. learning tech, learning venture capital. finding mentors and the right peers has also been a challenge. but passion, discipline, consistency, and delayed gratification keep me going in this.
