Hi Jose, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story begins in Venezuela, in a small and beautiful coastal city called Lechería, where I grew up and built my professional foundation. For seven years, I worked in the oil and gas industry as a petroleum engineer.
However, my passion for cars was always part of me. In 2014, I decided to take a leap of faith and follow that passion by opening my own auto repair shop.
In 2017, my family and I made the decision to move to the United States. That first year was full of personal growth — adapting to a new culture, a new language, and a completely different lifestyle.
Soon after, I had the opportunity to join QTX Auto, where over the years I’ve had the chance to work on nearly every type of vehicle: from 1950s classics to modern, luxury, race, and collector cars.
That wide range of experience builds confidence and skill — and when you can share that with your clients, they know their car, one of their most valuable possessions, is in good hands.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all — the road has definitely had its challenges.
When I moved from Venezuela to the United States with my family, everything was new: the culture, the language, even the way business was done. Starting over in a new country was humbling. I had to learn how things worked here, adapt to a different system, and rebuild my professional path from scratch.
In the beginning, there were moments of uncertainty — times when communication was difficult, or when I had to prove myself all over again despite already having years of experience in another industry. But those challenges became part of my growth.
Over time, I realized that every struggle was also an opportunity to improve, to learn, and to become stronger. And today, looking back, I truly value each step of that journey because it shaped who I am — both as a professional and as a person.
We’ve been impressed with QTX AUTO, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At QTX Auto, we specialize in high-quality collision repair, custom paint, and restoration work for all types of vehicles — from daily drivers to luxury, race, and classic cars. What truly sets us apart is the level of care and precision we put into every project.
We don’t just repair cars; we treat each vehicle as if it were our own. Whether it’s restoring the shine of a classic car, bringing a luxury vehicle back to showroom condition, or customizing a performance car to make it unique — our goal is always the same: quality, honesty, and attention to detail.
Over the years, we’ve built a reputation for craftsmanship and trust. Many of our clients come to us through word of mouth, which is something we’re very proud of because it reflects the confidence people have in our work.
Among our proudest milestones was our contribution to a custom Porsche project that was showcased at the SEMA Show, one of the most prestigious automotive exhibitions worldwide. We are currently honored to be working on another Porsche customization that will be presented at the same event in Las Vegas, November 2025.
What I want readers to know about QTX Auto is that we’re not just a body shop — we’re a team that truly loves what we do. We combine experience, passion, and integrity to deliver results that exceed expectations. For us, every car has a story, and we feel privileged to be part of it.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along the way is that success takes time, consistency, and humility. Nothing happens overnight, especially when you’re building something in a new country and starting from zero.
I’ve learned that hard work is not enough — you also need patience, a positive attitude, and the ability to adapt and keep learning. Challenges will always come, but if you stay focused on your purpose and do things with passion and honesty, everything eventually falls into place.
Another big lesson for me has been the importance of earning trust — from clients, coworkers, and the community. When people trust you, it’s not just about the work you do; it’s about who you are and how you treat them. That’s what truly builds long-term success.
