Hi Julia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Julia “Jules” Cruz- licensed esthetician and founder of Luminous Skin Lounge in Conroe, Texas.
My journey into esthetics wasn’t the obvious one. I began in the medical field because I’ve always been drawn to caring for people. Then life shifted- my husband and I built a business together, and I stepped proudly into the role of full-time mom and partner.
Those years taught me grit, discipline, and real-world entrepreneurship. But I missed the one-on-one connection of helping someone feel like their best self. Esthetics didn’t happen to me- it happened because of everything God, family, and experience have built in me. That calling led me to open Luminous Skin Lounge, a place where confidence is restored through intentional, barrier-first skin health.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entrepreneurship tests you- emotionally, financially, spiritually.
There have been moments where doubt tried to take the lead.
But every time fear shows up, grace shows up stronger.
God is the foundation of everything for me.
I’m not perfect- I’ll admit I slack sometimes- but I never stop praying, and He’s never stopped showing up.
Opening a business while raising a family, remodeling a space, mastering compliance, investing in advanced education- it hasn’t been easy. But I don’t move alone. I don’t build alone. And every step forward is a reminder of why I started.
We’ve been impressed with Luminous Skin Lounge, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Luminous Skin Lounge is a boutique skincare studio operating inside a private salon suite- offering personalized, one-on-one care without the chaos of a traditional spa. I focus on progressive, barrier-first results. I take the time to understand the skin’s condition at every visit and tailor each treatment with intention, comfort, and advanced skincare expertise built through continuous learning.
Skin isn’t vanity- it’s identity. When someone trusts me with their face, I honor that trust with personalized care, supportive technology, and education so they feel confident and knowledgeable about their skin.
One of my favorite moments during a facial is when a client falls asleep. That level of comfort and peace means they feel fully safe- and that trust is priceless to me.
I am most proud of creating a space where confidence is restored, where clients feel seen and cared for like family. Because healing skin is healing confidence- and that changes everything.
