Hidden Gems: Meet Karan Sra of Bayou City Dermatology

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karan Sra.

Hi Karan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I completed my undergraduate training at the University of Texas Austin, where I graduated with honors. In medical school, I instantly gravitated towards Dermatology, and it became my mission to provide innovative and devoted care to patients of all ages and to bring awareness of the importance of overall skin health.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As with many other physicians and business owners, the pandemic was a major obstacle I had to tackle when opening the 3 locations of my new practice. While it is one of the most challenging experiences, it is also one of the most rewarding.

We’ve been impressed with Bayou City Dermatology, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Bayou City Dermatology knows that medical and cosmetic dermatology is always evolving, and we stay on top by providing customized and cutting-edge treatments for all skin conditions. There are several factors that set Bayou City Dermatology apart, such as our informative newsletters offering skin care tips, monthly specials and giveaways. By offering convenient communication methods, it is as simple as sending a quick text message for an appointment or asking about a prescription.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Although I have many childhood memories with my parents and siblings, my favorite ones are with my daughter and husband. We enjoy traveling to Mexico, teaching our daughter how to play golf and basketball, visiting Washington DC, and spending time together in the kitchen baking our favorite treats.
