Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Moh.
Kim, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in fashion. My mom was a model and an entrepreneur who went on to open her own boutique and produced several fashion shows. Fast forward to my adult years, While in college on a totally different career path, I worked in various boutiques and retailers in Miami to pay for school.
With each brand, I gained knowledge and experience in the fashion world. I worked with the best is visual merchandising and worked closely with buyers to understand which pieces to buy and what customers wanted. I developed long lasting relationships that would lead me to where I am today.
I decided in 2019 to pursue my dream and start my own Fashion Styling business. Since I opened my business, I have gained loyal clients and been a part of several runway shows. One of my biggest shows was during New York Fashion Week 2021 where my work was highlighted in Huff Post and Yahoo News.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There were opportunities. One of my challenges was using social media to promote my business. Trying to manage a business in the beginning when you are the accountant, payroll department, marketing depart, HR. Sourcing talent to assist with the day to day was also a challenge. Working long hours. I will say having a passion for what you do and seeing the seed you have planted grow makes all of these challenges worth it.
We’ve been impressed with Mohstylz, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business provides a service that a lot of people struggle with. We teach the clients, women and men how to discover their personal style, so they feel comfortable and confident in whatever they wear. I specialize in closet edits, next level styling for everyday and photo shoots. I also personal shop for those clients that don’t know what they want to buy or just don’t have the time.
What sets me apart from others is the experience. I build long lasting relationships with my clients and their referrals are the best compliment.
My approach is fun, relatable, and efficient! The best part of my job is the smile on my client’s face.
