Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Morrison.
Hi Kimberly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I traveled a lot before 2019, before Covid. That all came to a halt in March 2019. I needed something to occupy my time so I started buying the weirdest, hardest plants to grow. When I found carnivorous plants, I instantly fell in love with the variety in them. Found out I was really good with them so in 2023, I started Kiki’s Octopus Garden, LLC. We mainly do local craft markets and a small online presence currently. Looking to expand soon.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Learning the different conditions for each type of plant. I unalived several, and still have varieties that I struggle with.
We’ve been impressed with Kiki’s Octopus Garden, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We specialize in mainly carnivorous plants and other unique or rare airoids, alocasia, Monstera succulents, but mainly carnivorous plants.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
People often ask why Kikis Octopus Garden? My very first greenhouse was given to me by a friend who bought home where the previous owners rehabilitated birds of prey. The structure had a beautiful octopus painted on the corner of it, and I was walking out there one day and I was so happy because I had my first greenhouse. I’m like “I’m walking out too. The octopus garden”. I have an octopus garden! My grandkids call me, Kiki so they’re in lies the name Kikis Octopus Garden.
