Hi Kishah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started off in the hospitality industry owning bed & breakfast for over 15 years as the first African American woman in Wisconsin Dells, WI, to do so. I moved to Texas 8 years ago and studied staging and design, and ultimately started my business Texas Stagers. Owning a bed & breakfast cultivated my passion for design. We are now embarking on a new addition to Texas Stagers… it’s called Collaborative Living Spaces. This program will bring high-end furniture stores and custom home builders together to create a unique one-stop shopping experience for homebuyers.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Owning a business has been one of the most rewarding adventures in my life yet a winding road of disappointments, financial challenges, and great learning experiences wrapped up in achievements and joy.
