Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Ramirez.
Hi Laura , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey as a psychotherapist really began long before I ever earned a license or opened my practice. Growing up, I was always drawn to people’s stories — their struggles, resilience, and the ways they created meaning through life’s challenges. Over the years, I realized that what lit me up most was being able to sit with someone in those raw moments and help them discover their own strength and clarity.
I became a licensed psychotherapist because I deeply believe in the power of healing conversations and practical tools that support growth. My career has taken me through schools, counseling centers, and community work, but I eventually felt called to create a space that reflected both my professional expertise and my passion for holistic, soulful living. That vision became Vivid Life Therapy.
At Vivid Life Therapy, I blend evidence-based practices with a warm, intuitive approach. My goal is to help clients not only process pain or challenges, but also reconnect with their sense of self, purpose, and possibility. Over time, I’ve also expanded into writing, creating resources, and even launching boutique ventures that bring healing and spirituality into everyday life.
Where I am today feels like a natural extension of that calling: I get to support people in navigating relationships, boundaries, decision-making, and personal growth — while also offering creative, soulful tools that empower them to carry that healing into their daily lives. It’s been a winding path at times, but one I wouldn’t trade, because each step has taught me something valuable about resilience, community, and the beauty of transformation.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. On the professional side, one of the biggest challenges has been stepping into entrepreneurship as a psychotherapist. Running a private practice isn’t just about the clinical work I love — it’s also about learning business skills, navigating insurance, marketing, and creating a brand that feels authentic. There were times I felt stretched thin or questioned whether I could wear all those hats, but those experiences pushed me to grow in ways that ultimately made Vivid Life Therapy stronger and more sustainable.
On a personal level, I’ve also faced challenges with balance. As both a counselor and a human being, I’ve had to navigate burnout, compassion fatigue, and the ongoing work of setting healthy boundaries. Add in the realities of family life — being a wife, a mom, and making space for my own self-care — and it hasn’t always been easy. There were seasons where I felt like I was giving from an empty cup, and I had to relearn the importance of slowing down, leaning on support systems, and practicing what I teach my clients.
Those struggles, both personal and professional, have shaped me. They’ve made me more grounded, more compassionate, and more real in the therapy room. I can look at a client and genuinely say, “I get it,” because I know what it feels like to wrestle with doubt, exhaustion, or overwhelm — and also what it feels like to find your way through.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Vivid Life Therapy was created to be more than just a therapy practice — it’s a space where healing, growth, and transformation come together. As a licensed psychotherapist, I provide counseling for individuals working through decision-making, boundaries, relationships, and personal growth. My approach blends evidence-based practices with holistic and intuitive methods, helping clients feel both grounded and empowered.
In addition to traditional psychotherapy, I also offer hypnotherapy as a tool for deep healing and change. This allows clients to access their subconscious in a safe, supportive way and address issues such as anxiety, stress, habits, or limiting beliefs. Another unique area of my work is conducting mental health evaluations for immigration cases — helping individuals and families navigate incredibly complex and emotional processes with compassion, professionalism, and care.
Beyond the therapy room, I am also a mental health and spiritual journey speaker. I love connecting with audiences to break down the stigma around mental health and inspire others to embrace both healing and growth. Whether it’s through speaking, workshops, or creative resources, I see my role as guiding others toward resilience, clarity, and transformation.
What sets Vivid Life Therapy apart is the integration of clinical expertise with soulful, intentional practices. My clients often say they feel seen not just as a diagnosis or a problem to solve, but as a whole person — mind, body, and spirit. I’m most proud that my brand authentically reflects this balance, from the therapy I provide to the creative workbooks and wellness resources I’ve developed, to the boutique offerings that carry healing into everyday life.
At its heart, Vivid Life Therapy is about helping people live more vividly — moving through struggles, reconnecting with their inner wisdom, and discovering the tools to create meaningful change.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that healing and growth are not linear — for myself, my clients, or anyone on their journey. Life brings setbacks, detours, and unexpected challenges, and I’ve discovered that those moments are not signs of failure but invitations to pause, reassess, and grow in new ways.
I’ve also learned that boundaries are essential — they’re not walls that keep people out, but bridges that help us honor ourselves and connect more authentically with others. That realization has shaped how I show up as a therapist, as a business owner, and as a person.
Perhaps above all, I’ve learned that authenticity matters. When I lead with honesty, compassion, and my true self — both in therapy and in life — that’s when the most meaningful connections and transformations happen.
