Today we’d like to introduce you to LeTricia Wilbanks.
Hi LeTricia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The WM started as a fascinating synchrodestiny story in 2018 when designers Wilbanks and Mackay met at an industry event and connected over fashion. From there, a year passed while Wilbanks began working with a business coach and Mackay attended a business conference where both were encouraged to step outside of their comfort zones, get very clear about their desires for their future business, and put all of these things down on a vision board down to the last detail. Mackay reached out to Wilbanks recognizing a shared passion for modern design that seduces the senses and creates the best life for clients. Unbeknownst to her, Wilbanks had already created the exact same model. The two immediately created a “married in Vegas” feeling business partnership and the rest is history.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The WM transformed what we thought would be the biggest challenge ever into the biggest opportunity imaginable. We opened our doors the same week that Covid 19 shut down all retail showrooms in the city. We used this time as a platform to intensify our branding, develop infrastructure to support growth, and dramatically focus on and expand our newly joined interior design practices. Because of this, we were able to settle into our newly birthed company in an intentional and focused way that set the stage for the massive growth we are now experiencing. Everything in life is about our attitude and how we choose to face obstacles. They can be just that, a struggle, or they can be an opportunity to grow stronger, and better.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At The WM, our mission is to transform environments and the experience of home and work, to enhance relationships, productivity and pleasure. We specialize in a warm European Modern look with a collection of specially curated goods selected from our travels abroad. We are a to the trade and public showroom and also offer full service residential and commercial design services to our clients. We strive to create environments that seduce the senses, that electrify. We want to inspire our clients to feel beautiful in the spaces we create, to want to entertain, to live life to the fullest, to love. We are excited to be able to begin travel again, and will start offering VIP shopping excursions with clients to top design destinations in the world, as well as design services for yachts and private planes. We have recently launched our signature scent, “La Nymphe”, which is available at The WM for purchase.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We love to host industry events with small pop ups in our showroom. When we do this, we partner with other small business owners who come in and showcase their merchandise and in this way, we are able to support other businesses.
