Hi Liliana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My fiancé and I have a ticket broker firm as one of our businesses which was affected by the pandemic. I decided to turn a hobby into a habit to help during the pandemic into an actual business at a time when most businesses were closing. Offering Cakes/cupcakes, dessert tables for events to chile gummies. My business soon started growing slowly as I gained some wonderful clients and referrals.
In the future, I hope to have a brick & mortar bakery.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The pandemic in itself was an obstacle. Finding my customer base at the beginning was hard as I depended on referrals from family and friends. Slowly over time, I met some amazing other small business owners in Houston and we’ve helped each other grow in a grassroots fashion.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve always had a love for cooking & baking since being in the kitchen with my mother, and grandmother as a child. As a person who wears many hats including but not limited to being a business owner, fiancé and mother. I love to be able to express myself creatively and artistically through cakes, candy, and other confectionery creations. Whether it be helping a client design a cake for a small intimate family celebration to a quinceanera or wedding. Our Chile gummies & Rim dips are truly unique as our spices used are blended for the perfect taste we use natural products to ensure all of our customers get a delicious snack. I’m truly blessed to have had my business flourish over the past year. I feel like I offer a very high quality product with lots of attention and care given to the little details. I’m fortunate to have been given the opportunity to provide my services to the families of many of the Houston professional athletes.
