Hi Lola, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Our Story
Rhythm began with a little girl who simply loved to dance.
I took my very first dance class at just two years old, and from that moment on, movement became part of who I am. Dance taught me confidence, creativity, discipline, and joy—and I knew early on that I wanted to share that feeling with others.
At 19 years old, I began teaching dance, and I quickly realized my passion wasn’t just choreography—it was helping children discover what they were capable of. Watching shy little ones find confidence, celebrating every new skill, and creating a space where every child felt seen became the work I loved most.
That passion grew into Rhythm.
Today, Rhythm is about so much more than dance and gymnastics. It’s a place where children build confidence, friendships, resilience, and a lifelong love of movement. Every class is designed to help kids grow—not just as dancers or gymnasts, but as joyful, confident humans.
Because I still believe what I discovered as a two-year-old: movement has the power to change a child’s life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenge has been finding people who share the same passion and commitment to our mission. Skills can be taught, but showing up consistently with heart for children is something much deeper.
For us, consistency isn’t just about being reliable—it’s about building trust. When children see the same caring teacher each week, they feel safe, confident, and excited to learn. That’s why we’re intentional about building a team of people who genuinely love kids and understand the impact they have every time they walk into a classroom.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At the heart of everything I do is creating joyful experiences that bring people together.
I built Rhythm Dance & Gymnastics to make high-quality dance and gymnastics accessible to children in their own schools. We specialize in preschool movement programs that help children build confidence, coordination, and a lifelong love of movement. While we teach dance and gymnastics, what we’re really known for is creating an environment where every child feels seen, celebrated, and encouraged to grow.
More recently, I launched Como La Flor, a floral design studio inspired by my love of celebrating life’s special moments. Rhythm offers dance recitals twice per year and I wanted to find a way to make it convenient for parents to order something special for their child. They can pre-order through our website and the bouquets will be ready for pickup at their show!
Although they serve different purposes, both brands are rooted in the same mission: creating meaningful moments that people remember. Whether it’s a child accomplishing a new skill in class or a family celebrating a milestone with flowers, I believe the smallest moments often leave the biggest impact.
What I’m most proud of is building businesses that people trust. We lead with heart, show up consistently, and genuinely care about the people we serve. At the end of the day, it’s never just about dance or flowers—it’s about helping people celebrate, connect, and create memories that last.
