Hi Luis, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Much of my story begins with being a first-generation American. My parents immigrated from Cuba in search of opportunity and a better life. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the grit, determination, and courage it takes to start over and build something meaningful from the ground up. Those lessons became the foundation of my own entrepreneurial journey.
Today, as the owner of a rapidly growing insurance brokerage, I bring that same spirit of hard work and commitment to every client I serve. I believe quality coverage shouldn’t come at the expense of financial peace of mind, and have found it very rewarding helping my clients find ways to make life more affordable.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, this road has not been smooth, but I don’t think I would have preferred it any other way. Starting a business you take on a lot of risk, whether it’s taking out loans, mortgaging your home, or losing that stable income you have grown to count on. However, the other factors which you have zero control over are the market conditions and economy of the communities you serve. In my case, here in Texas we had a huge shift in our Insurance market. I am pretty sure I am not the only one to have noticed the increase in all of our insurance rates and even the exit of some insurance companies from Texas as a whole. However, these challenges can help define who you are and who we can become. One can act helpless and use these outside forces as an excuse, or take it by the horns and see the opportunity to evolve and fight to achieve success. Fortunately for me thus far, I have found been able to adapt and find success. Most importantly, I have become a valuable resource to my community helping families to be able to better afford and maintain their lifestyles.
