Hidden Gems: Meet Marcy Jackson of Indigo Blue Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcy Jackson.

Hi Marcy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born Marcy Lynn Harris,
August 19,1965 in Houston, Tx. My mother, Sandra Roberson married my step father Charles Roberson when I was 2 years old.

My work ethic was taught at a young age watching my father work as a merchant seaman, spanning 4 decades until his retirement at 67 years of age, My mother Sandra worked as a Business Owner, Hair Stylist and Seamstress for over 35 years.

I sat and watched my mother dress impeccably matching accessories with her shoes, with attention to every detail and I knew my world would revolve in Fashion one day.

After graduating from the University of Houston with a Business Degree, I embarked on retail for over 30 years in all areas of the Industry, Store Manager, Training Manager, Area Manager and District Manager. My love for retail and fashion drove my desire to open my first boutique nearly 20 Years ago.

My husband operated the boutique while I worked as a Store Manager for 7 years, while I worked behind the scenes which paid off as Designs by Lynn Boutique was named the Best Plus Size Boutique by CBS,

My love for fashion and styling enabled me to style A-Listers, News Anchors and Local Celebrities.

After the death of my husband in 2019, I vowed to never open another boutique but my desire to serve and style customers were short lived as I married for the 2nd time in 2021, and opened Cremme de la Creme in Texas City, Tx in 2023, but 4 short months, my spouse was transferred to Chicago and my dreams were shattered, Low and behold, we learned that his time was up and we were notified that Houston would be on the radar, gladly we moved back home and I immediately started planning my next move.

December 28, 2024,
Indigo Blue was birthed, it’s my mission to make all women feel great in the skin that their in and assist all ladies in embracing who they are. Indigo Blue is here to stay and I look forward in what’s in store.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My obstacles in business is funding and keeping up with the demand of keeping my boutique stocked, also competing with online retailers such as Shein and Fashion Nova, but I’m a firm believer that ladies want the experience of touching, feeling and trying on their articles of clothing plus they love the conversations and giggles, so it gives me a leg up on my online competitors

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Indigo Blue Boutique ?
