Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Whitfield.
Hi Paige, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Absolutely. My journey into chiropractic and integrative health care is deeply personal. After graduating from Texas A&M University, I interned at St. Joseph’s Hospital here in Houston, where I first discovered my passion for patient-centered, holistic care. I saw how much patients needed advocates — providers who would take the time to understand the full picture of their health.
That experience led me to work as a chiropractic assistant, and eventually to pursue my Doctor of Chiropractic at Texas Chiropractic College. I loved their evidence-based approach, and being born and raised in Houston, it felt right to stay close to home. During my time at TCC, I immersed myself in leadership roles, serving as Class President, secretary of the Student Texas Chiropractic Association, and a member of several student organizations. I was honored to graduate Salutatorian in 2015.
However, during my third trimester of chiropractic school, my life took an unexpected turn — I suffered a vertebral artery dissection and a stroke at just 23 years old. That experience profoundly shaped me, both personally and professionally. It gave me a deep understanding of the fragility and resilience of the human body, and it fueled my commitment to providing thoughtful, integrative care that honors each patient’s unique journey to healing. I don’t take health for granted — and I don’t take my role as a healthcare provider lightly.
After graduation, I had the privilege of training under Dr. Galloway, and in 2019, I took over the practice. Today, I focus on conservative, integrative care that combines chiropractic therapies, functional nutrition, and collaboration with medical providers. I believe true healing happens when we address physical, emotional, and even socioeconomic factors — seeing the whole person, not just their symptoms.
Alongside running my practice, I earned my Diplomate in Clinical Nutrition and serve as the current head of the Credential Verification Committee for the American Clinical Board of Nutrition. Every step of my journey — from early experiences in hospitals to personal health challenges — has deepened my commitment to helping patients heal naturally, with compassion, evidence-based care, and hope.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — but every challenge has ultimately made me a better doctor and business owner. One of the most pivotal struggles happened during chiropractic school, when I suffered a vertebral artery dissection and a stroke at just 23 years old. Recovering from that while finishing my degree was incredibly difficult, but it gave me a deep, firsthand understanding of what true healing requires — physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Later, after years of mentorship, I took over the practice in August 2019 — just three months before COVID-19 hit. Practically overnight, I had to completely restructure the business, rethink how to deliver patient care safely, and navigate constant uncertainty. It was a crash course in leadership, flexibility, and resilience. I had to find ways to not just survive, but also to innovate — expanding services, tightening operations, and building deeper connections with patients during a time when community and trust mattered more than ever.
There have been moments of exhaustion, doubt, and growing pains, but each challenge strengthened my passion for patient-centered, holistic care. These experiences taught me that healing — whether it’s for a patient or a business — isn’t a straight line. It requires patience, creativity, and a willingness to evolve. I’m truly grateful for the path, even the hard parts, because they shaped who I am today.
We’ve been impressed with Galloway Chiropractic Clinic, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Galloway Chiropractic Clinic, our mission is simple but powerful: to help people heal naturally through integrative, patient-centered care. We specialize in conservative chiropractic therapies combined with functional nutrition — helping patients not just feel better, but truly heal from the inside out. I take a holistic approach, looking beyond just symptoms to address the physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors that impact health.
What sets us apart is our commitment to individualized, evidence-based care. Every treatment plan is tailored specifically to the patient — there are no one-size-fits-all solutions here. We focus on empowering the body with the right therapies and the right nutrients at the right time. I also strongly believe in integrative medicine and collaborate with other healthcare providers to make sure patients receive the most comprehensive and supportive care possible.
Brand-wise, I’m incredibly proud that our name has become synonymous with trust, compassion, and lasting results in the Houston community. Our patients know they’re not just a number here — they’re truly seen, heard, and cared for as a whole person.
Building on that mission, I also recently launched Whitfield Wellness, our expanded platform for holistic care, education, and empowerment. Whitfield Wellness offers online resources, functional nutrition consulting, wellness programs, and digital products designed to reach even more people looking to take control of their health naturally. It’s been a dream to create a space where healing extends beyond the clinic walls and into everyday life.
Ultimately, whether through Galloway Chiropractic Clinic or Whitfield Wellness, my goal is the same: to help people heal, thrive, and reclaim their health naturally — with compassion, expertise, and integrity. I want readers to know that whether they are seeking pain relief, deeper healing, or proactive wellness support, we are here to walk alongside them every step of the way.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I would say resilience — without question. Throughout my journey, from recovering from a stroke at 23, to taking over a practice just months before the world shut down during COVID, resilience has been the constant thread. It’s the ability to adapt, to keep learning, to keep showing up even when things are hard or uncertain.
But alongside resilience, I would also say empathy. Having gone through my own major health challenges, I approach every patient with a deep sense of understanding and compassion. I know what it feels like to want answers, to want real healing, and to need someone in your corner. I believe combining resilience with empathy has allowed me to build a practice — and now a wellness brand — that people trust, and to create lasting change in the lives of the people I serve.
