Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabree Cotton.
Hi Sabree , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Absolutely! HTX Honeys was born out of my own personal need for connection. I moved to Houston in 2021, and like many women who relocate or go through major life transitions, I found myself craving genuine friendships, uplifting spaces, and sisterhood. I didn’t just want to “go out”. I wanted to grow, heal, laugh, and build something real with other women.
What started as a simple happy hour idea to bring women together in a fun, judgment-free zone quickly turned into something bigger. After hosting our first event, I realized how many women were feeling the same way. They were craving safe spaces to connect, be seen, and be celebrated. From there, HTX Honeys evolved into a full-blown community and nonprofit dedicated to sisterhood, service, and self-care.
We now host monthly social events, wellness experiences, and volunteer initiatives throughout the Houston area. Whether it’s a spa day, a mental health workshop, or a service project for local girls, our mission stays the same: to create spaces where women feel supported, valued, and empowered.
HTX Honeys isn’t just about events—it’s about building a movement where women can show up as their full selves and find their people. And this is only the beginning.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not a smooth road; but every bump has taught me something valuable.
Starting HTX Honeys was deeply personal, and anytime you create something from the heart, there’s a learning curve. One of the biggest challenges was building trust and consistency in a new city where I didn’t have an established network. In the beginning, I often wondered, “Will anyone show up?” There were events where I had to push through self-doubt and keep going, even when RSVPs were low or things didn’t go as planned.
Another challenge has been balancing it all—I’m a wife, a mom of two girls, the founder of HTX Honeys, and the owner of Eminence Spa and Retreat, a holistic wellness spa. Wearing all of these hats means I’m constantly switching gears between business, family, and community. Managing the logistics, the creative side, the emotional labor, and still trying to pour into myself hasn’t always been easy. As women, we often show up for everyone else before ourselves and I’ve definitely felt the weight of that. Burnout is real, especially when you’re leading with passion and pouring from a full heart.
And of course, as a growing nonprofit, we’ve faced our share of challenges with funding, partnerships, and navigating what it takes to build something sustainable. But the vision has never changed and neither has the impact. The bonds formed, the lives touched, the healing that happens at every event… that’s the reminder to keep going.
It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been incredibly rewarding.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about HTX Honeys ?
HTX Honeys is more than a women’s social club—it’s a movement rooted in sisterhood, service, and self-care. We are a nonprofit women’s empowerment community based in Houston, dedicated to helping women connect, feel seen, and build meaningful relationships. Our goal is to create experiences that are healing, fun, and intentional—whether that’s through networking events, wellness activations, or community service.
We’re known for our signature monthly gatherings like HTX Honeys Happy Hour, immersive monthly wellness events, and giveback initiatives like Healing With the Honeys and Hive & High Heels, where we sponsor teen girls for Christmas and send them to prom fully styled and celebrated.
What sets us apart is the energy and authenticity we bring. This isn’t just another women’s networking group. We create spaces where women from all walks of life can show up as themselves—no cliques, no pressure, just community. Whether you’re new to Houston or just ready to find your tribe, HTX Honeys is here to welcome you with open arms.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how much love and intention goes into everything we do. Every event has a purpose, every detail is considered, and every woman who attends leaves feeling a little more full than when she came.
If you’ve been craving connection, joy, support, or just a break from the everyday grind—HTX Honeys was created for you. We invite you to come as you are and leave better than you came. And trust me, once you experience the sisterhood, you’ll understand why we say: this is what community looks like.
Any big plans?
The future of HTX Honeys is all about growth, impact, and legacy. We’ve seen firsthand what happens when women feel safe, seen, and supported. We’re ready to expand that magic on a larger scale.
We’re currently launching our official HTX Honeys Membership Program that give Honeys exclusive perks, early access to events, curated experiences, and deeper connections within the community. This will allow us to serve our members more intentionally while creating sustainable support for our nonprofit mission.
We also plan to expand our giveback initiatives- Healing With the Honeys (our volunteer-based service days), so that we’re not just building bonds—we’re building a better city for the next generation of women.
And one of the things I’m most excited about? We’re taking our very first Honeys trip this June to celebrate our 1-year anniversary! It’s a full weekend experience filled with luxury, sisterhood, and unforgettable vibes—and it’s just the beginning. We plan to roll out more curated Honey getaways in the future so women can travel, connect, and explore new cities together.
Long-term, I’d love to see HTX Honeys expand beyond Houston. There are women in every city craving the kind of intentional sisterhood we’ve created, and I believe this is just the beginning.
We’re also dreaming up retreats, wellness tours, merch drops, and even scholarship programs—all with the same heartbeat: community, care, and connection. I’m excited to see how we continue evolving while staying grounded in the values that brought us together in the first place.
