Hi Shante, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I actually started out by selling bundles, Bragging Rights Extensions is the name of my business. By me selling hair I became more interested in hair.
I always could style hair, curl & straighten). I really started doing hair because hairstylist would cancel my appointments or my hair wouldn’t turn out how I wanted it. So I went to & graduated from Paul Mitchell Cosmetology school.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have definitely been some struggles from customers saying they did not receive their hair(when they did). Clients not wanting to pay my set prices & the slow season can be a struggle as well. But I can say my very first client is still my client today, she sat in my chair 2017 & I have been doing her hair ever since.

At Braggin Beauty I specialize in Custom Lace Wigs, Makeup & Traditional Hair Styles. I’m known for being the wig whisperer, my coloring techniques & skin finish glam makeup.
What sets me apart from others is I do my clients hair & makeup how I do my own hair. Every curl, & piece of hair has to be perfect.
I want the readers to know I really take pride in doing my clients hair, makeup and customizing Lace wigs.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’ve definitely been a risk taker when it comes to my business. I’ve had clients that wanted rainbow colored hair. I’ve never done that before but I wanted to step out my comfort zone. I always would do one all over color or blonde highlights. My client loved her hair, it was blue, pink, green, purple, I called her hair “Skittles”
I also began selling Braggin Beauty Bonnets, Wig Melt Bands & Lip Gloss. Tapping in to different ventures to expand my brand is very risk taking for me because I’m an over thinker. Wondering if things are going to work or if this new product will be beneficial towards my brand.
