Today we’d like to introduce you to Sobi Qazi
Sobi , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I took a leap of faith in 2007, launching my own wedding and event planning business, driven by a passion for pursuing my dream career—a passion that began in high school. Over the years, I have successfully planned and executed more than 450 multicultural and fusion weddings, corporate events, and non-profit fundraisers, including those featuring high-profile Hollywood and Bollywood celebrity appearances internationally.
In 2015, I expanded my expertise by obtaining a real estate license, allowing me to help couples achieve their dreams not only through wedding planning but also in home buying. I am passionate about guiding individuals through life’s major transitions—whether it’s newlyweds finding their first home, engaged couples planning for the future, or divorcing spouses starting a new chapter.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As an entrepreneur and small business owner, the journey is never smooth or easy. It requires a lot of hard work, long hours, and financial struggles before seeing any profit. What truly makes this journey worthwhile is the passion that drives me and the meaningful connections I’ve built over the past 17 years with clients during their major life milestones. It’s an honor and a humbling experience to witness the full cycle of both a celebration and a transaction—these are significant financial decisions for my clients.
One of the biggest challenges along the way has been navigating market conditions and standing out in a competitive industry. For example, during the COVID-19 pandemic, my wedding and event business experienced a significant decline for nearly two years, making the instability in income difficult to manage.
Meanwhile, in real estate, staying relevant required consistently leveraging social media marketing, increasing visibility, and actively engaging to build exposure as an agent. Finding the right balance between adaptability and persistence was essential to overcoming these challenges.
I had to remind myself time to time, to succeed, I must continuously grow, embrace change, and seek innovative ways to elevate my brand while staying attuned to evolving consumer needs and attracting my ideal clients.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
As the founder of SQRE Group (Sobi Qazi Real Estate, pronounced “square”), the core mission is to represent clients “fair and square.” I am committed to ensuring that every transaction is conducted with transparency, fairness, and integrity. Whether it’s navigating the residential or commercial real estate market—leasing, buying, or selling—I am dedicated to delivering exceptional results, meticulously tailored to meet each client’s unique goals and aspirations.
My areas of expertise include First-Time Home Buyers, New Construction, Luxury Homes, Divorce Real Estate, and Farm & Ranch properties. In the Commercial Real Estate sector, I specialize in Retail, Office, Industrial/Flex, Healthcare, Mixed-Use Development, and Commercial Land.
In today’s dynamic real estate market, adaptability is key to staying ahead. I proudly embrace my role as a “resimercial” professional, working in both residential and commercial real estate. This unique combination of skills allows me to bridge the gap between these two types of transactions. I take pride in being a one-stop shop for all real estate needs. I truly love being involved in the full cycle of a transaction, from start to finish, and find immense fulfillment in the rewarding moments along the way.
As I now focus on real estate full-time, I have stepped away from taking on wedding and event planning clients to dedicate my energy entirely to growing my real estate business more efficiently and strategically. However, from time to time, I offer consulting services to my real estate clients who are also planning their weddings, helping them make informed decisions while navigating both milestones simultaneously. With 17 years of experience as a wedding and event planner and 10 years as a real estate agent, I provide valuable insights to clients facing the challenge of deciding whether to plan a wedding first, buy a home first, or tackle both at the same time. My expertise allows me to guide them through this process seamlessly, ensuring they take the right steps based on their unique circumstances.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to stay true to myself so I can give my clients the best service possible. Be you, be real. Not every client is meant for you, and the right ones will never pass you by. Focus on your own growth and improvement—never compare yourself to others or their businesses. Everyone has a unique journey, and staying in your own lane helps eliminate distractions. Embrace the process, love it, learn from it, and remember that failures are just stepping stones. Keep going and stay true to yourself.
