Hi Stephania, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I decided to start my own credit repair company after I noticed all the money that I was paying to these collection agencies wasn’t really doing any effect to my credit score, basically, I was just throwing my money in the trash. What do I mean by throwing it in the trash: paying collection companies doesn’t mean your credit score is going to increase or it doesn’t mean that the account will get removed from your credit report as they promise it is the only thing that would change is the balance it will report to $0 on the comments and late payments will always remain the same and that’s what actually hurts the credit score. I didn’t want all these Americans to fall into the same trap. This is how I started my own credit repair company and tried to understand and help as many Americans as possible. I grew a big passion for repairing credit and I just love what I do,” Stephania recounts.
However, Covid-19 shook Stephania’s company to its roots. Her business relied heavily on visits from people in person to check in on their credit and help devise successful plans to create financial stability for them. They had to completely change their business model in order to keep up, but they did just that and have found more and more people to help every day through their new virtual platform.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I knew before I launch this company that my mindset had to be at 200% your mindset is very crucial when you run a business your mind will take you to places you will never imagine, it is very hard to have a strong mindset when you start a business but you have to try your very best to maintain it at a very high level. I knew that my mind was the engine of my company and I had to take care of it very well. Remember no one else cares more for your business than yourself.
One of the biggest obstacles I’ve overcome within the first year in the industry was getting on the phone with my clients and giving them accurate information based on their credit report because credit is very delicate Information that could cause a lot of big problems. Thanks to my knowledge and long hours of studying credit, it has made me overcome that obstacle and feel more confident as I speak to my future clients and current clients.
That obstacle aside, CreditStephy has had big success in helping people get their credit score under control and in a place where they can live. One thing that helped her get past that difficult moment in her career was her mindset.
