Hi, I’m Swetha Thimmaiah, a Houston-based content creator, proud mom, and a dog lover with a deep passion for interior design, DIY projects, fashion, and all things lifestyle. For me, home has always been more than just four walls, it’s where life happens. It’s where memories are made, comfort is found, and creativity comes alive.
By profession, I’m an Instrumentation Engineer, currently working full-time as a Project Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry. But beyond the spreadsheets and schedules, my heart has always been drawn to creating beautiful, intentional spaces.
I’ve always found joy in the little things, lighting a candle just because it’s raining, rearranging the living room because it just feels better, or transforming a room with a fresh coat of paint. What began as a simple love for cozy, beautiful homes has grown into a true passion for design and crafting spaces that reflect the people who live in them.
One of the most surprising things I’ve learned as a home design enthusiast is how much impact small, unexpected changes can have on a space. I once thought making your home look high-end had to be expensive, but I’ve since learned that’s not true at all. You can still create a luxe feel without breaking the bank, thanks to affordable high-end finds that add sophistication and style. It’s amazing how something as simple as changing out a few throw pillows or moving a piece of artwork to a new wall can completely transform the mood of a room.
The beauty of home design is that it’s not always about big, expensive makeovers, it’s the little tweaks and adjustments that often bring the most joy. Even after all these years of experimenting with different styles and projects, I’m still surprised by how easily a fresh perspective or a simple update can breathe new life into a space.
This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the constant support of my husband, whose belief in me has always inspired me to chase my dreams. My sister’s relentless encouragement and faith in my vision have pushed me to reach new heights, while my friends have been there every step of the way, cheering me on and making this experience even more meaningful.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As much as I love transforming spaces, the journey is not always smooth sailing. There are plenty of obstacles along the way, from tight budgets and limited time to unexpected setbacks during DIY projects.
Managing my full-time role as a Project Engineer, family time, parenting, cooking, and finding time for home projects often feels like I’m constantly juggling multiple responsibilities at once.
There are moments when I feel frustrated or overwhelmed by the sheer number of decisions to make and the limited time to bring them to life. However, my passion for giving back to my Instagram community keeps me motivated, and I continue to create content despite these challenges.
Every obstacle has been a valuable learning experience, and I’ve come to embrace the process, knowing that even mistakes can lead to unexpected beauty. After all, creating a home is a journey, and it’s the imperfections that often make it feel real and lived-in.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people who know me through my work see the focused, creative side of me – but what often surprises them is how adventurous I am outside of it. I’ve gone skydiving, snorkeled in open waters, and I’m always up for trying unique foods (I love all kinds of seafood and have even tasted octopus, soft shell crab, and turtle soup!). That curiosity and willingness to dive into new experiences fuels my creativity, keeps me open, and helps me stay adaptable for whatever comes next.
Something people might not know about me is how much I enjoy giving back to the community. Whether it’s volunteering at a food bank, spending a day teaching at a school, or getting my hands dirty planting in the community – I’m always looking for ways to contribute. One of my proudest moments was leading the team organizing a 5K Heart Walk at my workplace and raising $20,000 in just two weeks for the American Heart Association. Community work keeps me grounded, connected, and constantly reminded of the impact we can make when we come together for a cause.
I also never say no to participating in events – whether it’s dancing, singing, or jumping into a skit, I’m always up for being part of the fun. It’s my way of staying connected, spreading joy, and embracing every opportunity to engage with people in meaningful and memorable ways.
