Hidden Gems: Meet Tiffany Thompson of ROSE Therapeutic Farm and Goat Yoga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Thompson.

Tiffany Thompson

Hi Tiffany, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Our small farm journey began in 2017 when we welcomed our first animals, a Mini Pig named Ziggy and a Goat named Lil Bit. Initially, we offered Goat Yoga classes, but since then, our herd has grown significantly along with our events. We now provide a home to over 100 animals and have established a large community of animal enthusiasts who return year after year.

Over the past seven years, the farm has undergone a magical transformation. In 2019, we relocated to Brookshire, and every year since has brought new delights. In the first year, the farm welcomed two mini pigs, a majestic bull named Daryll, and a flock of ducks, chickens, and a Peacock named Frankie. The second year introduced two FFA sheep, a wise tortoise named Tully, and eight Californian rabbits who now free-range on the farm. The farm continued to expand with new members each year, including Hank, a sweet Zebu steer, and a naughty Peacock named Frankie whose iridescent feathers added a mystical element. The latest year saw the arrival of two adorable mini donkeys, Bailey and Oliver, and two Scottish Highland Cows, Maple and Ginger, completing the captivating tapestry of the farm’s evolution.

We now offer baby goat snuggle sessions, cow cuddling sessions, birthday parties, pumpkin carving with goats, Easter egg hunts with goats, and many more activities suitable for both families and adult groups.

Our mission is to educate people about the negative effects of factory farming and how they can acquire humanely sourced animal products.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s definitely not been a smooth road, but every challenge has been a learning experience. The biggest struggles have been caring for the animals and building a reliable team. Learning how to properly care for a variety of animals has been tough, especially when no matter how much care you provide, sometimes you can’t save them all. It’s heartbreaking, but it’s a reality of the work we do.

Building a strong team has been another significant challenge. In a new business, everyone needs to wear multiple hats, and farm work is physically demanding, often involving long hours in tough conditions. Finding the right people who are willing to take on that level of commitment has been difficult, but I’ve been fortunate to find a few key members who have stuck with me. However, expanding the team with the right individuals to grow the business further remains a challenge.

In spite of these struggles, each step forward has made us stronger and more resilient. Every setback has taught us something valuable, and we’re better prepared for whatever comes next.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
When we were just starting Rose Therapeutic Farm, COVID hit, which presented a significant challenge. However, we were fortunate enough to continue offering small group and private activities since everything we do is outdoors. This allowed us to provide a safe space where people could still get outside, breathe fresh air, and enjoy the therapeutic effects of nature and our adorable animals during such a tumultuous time.

We were incredibly grateful to be able to offer a bit of normalcy and relief when it was most needed, helping our community connect with nature and find some peace amid the uncertainty. That experience reinforced our commitment to creating a space where people can find comfort, joy, and a sense of connection, no matter the circumstances.
