Hidden Gems: Meet Vitaliy Nikitin of AsVi Group Services LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vitaliy Nikitin

Vitaliy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey began in Kazakhstan, where I earned a Master’s degree in Project Management in 2015 and discovered a strong passion for construction. It started with small renovation projects — first in my own home, then in residential properties I invested in. Over time, I built a successful construction business, managing a team and completing full-scale renovations.

As my experience and confidence grew, I began taking on more ambitious projects and developed a reputation for being hands-on, reliable, and deeply involved in every stage of the building process. The more I built, the more I realized this was my long-term path — not just as a business, but as something I genuinely love doing.

In 2023, I took a major step forward: I moved to the USA (Houston, Texas) and opened my construction company here – AsVi Group Services LLC. I partnered with other companies, and since then, we’ve completed several infrastructure projects across Texas, South Carolina, and North Carolina. These include installing adiabatic cooling systems for data centers, building modular offices and security structures, and constructing concrete foundations and enclosures for high-performance computing and mining facilities.

Our work directly supports the U.S. energy and technology sectors — areas of national importance — by helping build efficient, future-ready infrastructure. I’m proud that my projects create jobs, serve community needs, and contribute to industries.

Looking ahead, we are planning residential housing projects in West Texas. I remain fully committed to expanding our impact — one project at a time.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course, it hasn’t been a smooth road — in business, especially in the beginning, challenges are part of the journey. For me, one of the first struggles was finding my initial clients and building trust in a new market where no one knew me yet. Starting from scratch in a new country requires not only technical skills, but also patience, persistence, and a lot of faith in your own vision.

Another challenge was building the right team. In construction, the quality of your work depends heavily on the people beside you. It took time to find reliable contractors who shared my work ethic and attention to detail.

But my biggest personal challenge was the language barrier. When I arrived in the U.S., I spoke very little English, and that made everything more difficult — from explaining technical ideas to clients to understanding local building codes and business conversations. It was frustrating at times, but I kept going, learning every day, and pushing myself to improve.

Now, after two years of constant practice through work and communication, I can confidently say that my English has improved significantly. And more importantly, I’ve learned that challenges are not roadblocks — they’re part of what makes success meaningful.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about AsVi Group Services LLC?
I started my business journey in Houston as a handyman and a general contractor, focusing mainly on residential painting and renovation projects. I built a base of loyal clients who appreciated the quality of my work, my work ethic, and the fact that I was always personally involved in every detail.

As my reputation grew, I transitioned into larger commercial and industrial construction projects. I found a deeper sense of purpose in this type of work — not only was I helping individual clients, but I was contributing to something greater: infrastructure that supports energy, technology, and long-term development in the U.S.

What sets us apart is our hands-on approach, personal responsibility, and the ability to quickly adapt to different types of projects — from high-performance industrial systems to residential finishing.

But while we’re growing and taking on ambitious projects, I want to make sure that my company remains rooted in Houston. This city gave me my start, and I want to give back by continuing to provide high-quality services here. That’s why I’m currently looking for a reliable manager who can oversee operations locally while I’m away on site visits or leading projects in other regions.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Yes — I believe that without risk, growth is often impossible. Some of the biggest breakthroughs in life and business happen when we step out of our comfort zone and bet on ourselves.

One of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken was moving to the United States. I arrived with no local contacts, no green card, no strong English skills, and no guaranteed path forward. All I had were the savings I’d worked hard for, the belief in my vision, the support of my family, and the opportunity to start a business in the U.S.

Since I didn’t have a green card or work permit, the only legal way for me to build something here was to invest in my own company and pursue the E-2 investor path — which meant putting in $100,000 without any guarantee of approval. I was risking not just my money, but my time, my future, and the future of my family. If my application had been denied, I would have had to leave everything behind and return home, with nothing to show for the effort and investment.

But I value doing everything the right way. I believe that long-term success — especially in a new country — must be built on honesty, transparency, and legal integrity. That mindset has guided me through the entire process.

Thankfully, we got approved. Today, I’m proud to be growing my company. And I’ve learned that sometimes, the most uncertain steps lead to the most meaningful progress — as long as you’re willing to take them with purpose and integrity.
