Hidden Gems: Meet Viviane Nguyen of Goldie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Viviane Nguyen

Hi Viviane, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My co-founders and I formed the idea behind Goldie during our time at Rice University for our MBA. We were tasked to find a solution to a “burning problem,” and couldn’t get over the nightmare of jean shopping. Sizing in women’s jeans is notoriously inconsistent and makes shopping for jeans online especially a challenge. Goldie is a women’s jean fit finder that uses your measurements to match you to the perfect fit.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenge we faced was not pushing ourselves to experiment and launch things sooner. In launching our MVP in 2023, we decided the product would never be as perfect as we wanted and to do our best to just perform the core purpose of Goldie, even if it was missing features or required some manual work. Our motto now is to launch early and iterate fast! We launched the newest version of Goldie with this mindset, an interactive website where users can sort and filter instant matches, save their favorites, and create a profile. As we approach our 2025 strategy, we’re focused on brand awareness and learning from customer feedback.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Goldie is an algorithm-based fit finder for women who shop online that uses your measurements to match you with the perfect jeans. Blending experience from different backgrounds in fashion, tech, and business, my co-founders and I are really passionate about solving inconsistent sizing for shoppers and the high rate of online returns for retailers.

What are your plans for the future?
We’re hoping to partner with a retailer to broaden our jeans sizing database and continue to update Goldie to best serve our users.
