Hi Valencia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved from California in November of 2019 to Texas to open my gym vFiT. vFiT opened January 11, 2020 and closed March 13th due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. I was only open just a few short months before I had to close! Very sad and disappointed, I had to come up with a strategy to keep my business open. I applied for all SBA, PPP and other grants but received nothing. Because my business was open this year and most grants and the SBA needed tax information for my business from 2019 and being that I just opened this year I could not provide the proof they needed. So I got no help. The only help I had was myself. I ran my business online. With the use of zoom and other social media apps, I provided my clients with virtual and online personal training and group classes. This helped me out some to keep my new business open. I worked 12-14 hours days to make this work and still to this day, that’s what I’m doing. I re-opened on May 13th. I lost my massage therapist during the closure and was able to find a Barber that took over the small build out space in my gym, Merlot’s Barber Shop. I started my brand vFiT because I believed in my brand. vFiT is pronounced five fits. If you look at my logo, you will see the v is a Roman numeral 5. vFiT stands for my five components of fitness: muscle Strength, Muscle Endurance, Cardiovascular, Flexibility and Nutrition.
I believe with these components, and I can help anyone reach their fitness goal. Whatever your goal may be use vFiT! I believe in fitness it’s my lifestyle and I believe everyone should find something about it to love. Movement cures! vFiT your way to a healthy lifestyle! As of today, I survived a Pandemic as a first time business owner and a business that opened during a pandemic is absolutely hard work & dedication.
