Today we’d like to introduce you to Benjamin Steinsholt.
Benjamin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve spent a lot of time working in the world of art & antiques. From assisting at a gallery, to cataloging for an auction house. Making sure items are handled properly has been priority #1 for many years.
When I had the opportunity to take that to the level for customer by delivering fine furniture, installing art in homes and offices and white glove installation of home goods for interior designers, I jumped at the opportunity.
Today, I’m not simply picking up items from antique shops and delivering them to customers homes, but traveling the country picking up items from auction houses and offering white glove delivery to designers, office spaces, antique shops and consumers everywhere.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing is easy. It takes a lot of “don’t call us, we’ll call you” messages to marketing outreach before things begin clicking. To be an entrepreneur, you have to learn what works for your line of business, and what doesn’t. I’ve had some ideas that I thought were great that have fallen flat. And then I’ve had other ideas that have created repeat customers I never would have thought would work.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Steinsholt Delivery?
Steinsholt Delivery is a white glove moving, storage and delivery business that goes the extra mile in handling your family heirlooms and luxury home goods. We help with one item, or an entire household.
What sets us apart from other moving companies is our experience. Our background working with art and antiques has helped us to know the care that is needed when packing and moving fragile items. Other moving companies traditionally work with new/er furniture, lighting and boxes full of knick knacks. We specialize in 19th century sofas, and 18th century cabinets to art worth tens of thousands of dollars.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I don’t have much time for reading being on the road, but podcasts are great. I especially like The Tim Ferris Show. It offers a lot of great insight from leading business owners, and hacks for how to get the most out of your day.
