Inspiring Conversations with Brittany Charles of HEAL Hair Care

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Charles

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hair care has always been a central theme in my life. Growing up, I was constantly inspired by watching my mom practice self-care with such grace and dedication. She had this effortless beauty about her—her hair and skin always impeccably maintained—and she instilled in me the importance of taking care of my crown. Back then, I never imagined that one day I would be a hair care business owner, but life has a funny way of guiding you toward your path.

The idea of creating my own hair care products started in college, but it remained just a thought, a distant possibility. It wasn’t until years after I graduated that I finally decided to take the leap. The turning point came when I met my husband in 2021—he was just a friend at the time, but he gave me the confidence I needed to believe in my vision. Up until then, I had been making my handmade hair products for myself in my small apartment. I was content with using them personally, never thinking to share them with others out of fear they wouldn’t be received well.

That all changed when my husband began using my products on his beard and hair. He started to notice real results—his hair became more manageable, and he saw significant growth. His enthusiasm and support pushed me to share my creations with a wider audience. What began as a personal passion has now grown into a business I never imagined we would have. It’s been a journey of self-discovery, confidence, and creativity, and I’m excited for what’s to come.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth? Ha! Is anything in life ever smooth? It’s definitely been a ride—sometimes bumpy, sometimes surprising, but always worth it. The natural hair care industry has its own set of challenges, and I’ve faced my share. One big hurdle has been dealing with the naysayers. You know, the ones who always seem to have an opinion and something negative to say about my path. But hey, I’ve learned to let their doubts fuel my determination.

Then there’s the competition. So many brands out there claim to be organic and clean, but when you look at the ingredients, it’s a whole different story. Meanwhile, people are shelling out loads of money for these so-called ‘clean’ products. It’s frustrating, but I stay focused on what I believe in—offering truly clean, beneficial products without the ridiculous price tag.

And let’s not forget the funding! Making quality products while keeping them affordable is no small feat. Balancing that with holding down a regular 8-5 job has been its own juggling act. But through it all, I’ve stayed patient. There’s a time and season for everything, and despite the bumps along the way, I’m confident that HEAL Hair Care will continue to grow and thrive. The journey’s been tough, but it’s also been one of self-discovery and growth—and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

As you know, we’re big fans of HEAL Hair Care . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At HEAL Hair Care, we’re committed to offering handmade organic hair products that are thoughtfully curated with every crown in mind. From hair creams and balms to conditioners, mists, and even body butters, each product is crafted using the finest herbal oils and butters to ensure noticeable, consistent results. Our focus is not just on delivering great hair care, but on fostering a deeper connection between health and self-care.

What sets us apart is the scientific precision behind our formulations. With over five years of lab experience and a strong foundation in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), I approach each product with the mindset of a formulator. Every batch is created using aseptic techniques to ensure it’s free from contamination and meets the highest standards of safety and effectiveness. I believe that my background in science is what gives HEAL Hair Care its edge—it allows me to combine nature’s healing power with the discipline of scientific rigor, ensuring that our customers not only see results but can trust in the quality of what they’re using.

What I’m most proud of, brand-wise, is our dedication to holistic healing. We care deeply about our customers’ well-being, both inside and out. HEAL Hair Care is not just about external beauty; it’s about encouraging people to heal their hair and body through the power of herbs. And, more importantly, it’s about sparking a broader conversation on healing—beyond the physical, into the emotional and spiritual. In today’s world, healing is something we all need, and if our products can help people tap into that journey, then I feel we’re fulfilling a much bigger purpose.

Ultimately, what I want people to know about HEAL Hair Care is that we’re here for the journey, not just the destination. We’re not simply selling products—we’re inviting people into a movement of healing, empowerment, and self-discovery.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Definitely. COVID-19 was the push I needed to finally start HEAL Hair Care. The uncertainty of the pandemic taught me that no day is promised, and if there’s something you’re passionate about, you can’t wait for the “perfect” time to start—you have to dive in. It forced me to take a hard look at what I truly wanted to do and gave me the courage to pursue it wholeheartedly. The crisis reminded me of the importance of resilience, adaptability, and making the most of each moment. Starting my business during such a challenging time gave me a deeper sense of purpose and determination.
