Today we’d like to introduce you to Chiquita Strong.
Hi Chiquita, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Starting as a Criminal Court Clerk at the District Courthouse launched a career of over 17 years in the Criminal Field that was curated from mere curiosity and simply, “What else could I learn in the current working environment?” I became a licensed Investigator focusing on Criminal Investigations. The investigation world began to highlight my eye for details and organization. Before I knew it, I started a separate business for Forensic Discovery Management focusing on Trial Prep. Along the way, I begin to work alongside peers in the Mitigation Specialist arena and understood more about their Practice for a few years while developing how I could develop a way to impact the industry and community more and was in line with my purpose and created The Strong Practice- Criminal Mitigation Firm to tell our clients story. I completed almost a year at the Harris County Public Defenders office as a Criminal Investigator before returning back as a contractor 2022
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This journey has been just that… As a single parent of 4 student-athletes with year-round activities and different schedules. That alone was a full-time job, but I loved being a full-time sports mom and hands-on. The business was also full time and management of both worlds had to work. There was no alternative – no option but to be successful. So, if it required working until the wee hours of the morning, that’s exactly what was done. Work was not challenging, but maintaining consistent quality work was KEY for me. That’s what has allowed me to experience success and consistent clientele as well.

The Strong Practice is our Mitgation Specialist firm Serving as an indispensable part of your criminal defense team by composing a well-documented psycho-social history report of the client.

The Strong Boardroom is a mentor-immersed internship for high school and college students.
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Risk-taking is mandatory in order to develop your strategy for success and to even measure your failures. How will you know what to adjust or when to just stay the course? I believe RISK is not to be feared but embraced; it’s all part of growth and development.
Coming to the resolution that our work is service-oriented, and that alone is priceless. A few main ingredients in our success are integrity, communication, and service, which can be considered RISKY, but it’s all designed to elevate our purpose.
