Hi Ciarra, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my hair career unintentionally. As a young teenager, I faced several challenges in getting my hair done and eventually grew tired of feeling helpless. I thought, “This can’t be too hard. I’ll do it myself.” I was 14 years old.
The first time I went to school after doing my own hair, I received an amazing and surprising response! People were so impressed with what I did that they wanted me to do their hair too. When a teacher from my high school asked me to do her hair, I knew I had something valuable to offer the beauty industry.
Whenever I’m asked how long I’ve been doing hair, I always say, “Do you want to know licensed years or all together?” because when I enrolled in Cosmetology School, I had already been doing hair for five years.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Relocating a service-based business has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I’ve had to really prove my expertise since moving my business to a new state. Most people who find me are trusting my reviews and pictures online.
Being a stylist in my hometown was much different because I had people who could not only vouch for my skill set but also for my character.

What brings much joy to my heart is being an answered prayer. I’ve had many clients tell me they’ve prayed for a stylist like me.
Often, people have a hard time explaining what they want. I spend extra time getting to know my clients so that I can pull information from their lifestyle to create a custom look.
