Hi Eshal, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began planning events in high school, starting with my own parties and school functions, which sparked my passion for creating memorable experiences. As I gained more experience helping with family weddings, I developed a deeper understanding of logistics, design, and coordination.
Two years ago, I officially launched Khushiya Events, and since then, we’ve planned and executed over 25 weddings along with many other celebrations and corporate events. What started as a personal passion has now become a full-time business built on creativity, organization, and connection. I’m currently completing my degree at the University of Texas at Austin and look forward to continuing to grow Khushiya Events as I graduate and take it to the next level.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Starting a business at a young age meant figuring everything out on my own and finding my place in the industry. Balancing college with wedding weekends definitely wasn’t easy, especially with all the travel back and forth to make it happen. But every event has been such a rewarding experience, and seeing each wedding come together successfully makes all the hard work worth it. Looking back, every challenge has helped me and Khushiya Events grow into what we are today.

Khushiya Events is a full-service wedding and event planning company based in Houston, specializing in South Asian and multicultural celebrations. We offer both full planning and day-of coordination services, customizing each experience to fit our clients’ needs and vision. We focus on crafting events that feel deeply personal, ensuring that every detail reflects each couple’s story and style.
What truly sets us apart is the level of care and connection we bring to every event. I leave each wedding feeling like I’ve gained lifelong friends, and I treat every family as if they were my own. I approach every moment with the mindset of, “What would I want if this were my event?” — and that perspective allows us to plan with both empathy and precision.
As one of the few Ismaili wedding planners in Houston, I understand the cultural nuances, traditions, and values that shape so many of our clients’ celebrations. That background allows me to create experiences that feel both seamless and deeply meaningful.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Khushiya Events has earned its reputation for trust, creativity, and genuine relationships. Our goal is to make every client feel truly seen, supported, and celebrated from start to finish.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I’ve always been a creative person who loves going all out for any kind of celebration birthdays, graduations, you name it. You should honestly see my garage; I have cabinets full of décor from past bridal showers, birthdays, and graduation parties I’ve hosted. I’ve always loved designing spaces and making moments feel special.
I’ve also always been very independent. Even growing up, I liked figuring things out on my own and finding ways to make ideas happen. Looking back, it makes sense that I ended up in event planning because it combines both the creativity and independence that have always been a big part of who I am.
