Inspiring Conversations with Francesca Greene of Cypress Scar Tissue Massage

Today we’d like to introduce you to Francesca Greene.

Hi Francesca, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been a licensed massage therapist for 14 years now. I’ve worked for national chains like Massage Envy and Massage Heights and chiropractors, but recently in the past year got the courage to work solely for myself after battling stage 2 breast cancer. I have an office on Jones Road and serve the Cypress, Vintage, Jersey Village or Champions area, but also travel to houses sometimes to do hospice massages. It’s definitely been rewarding and sometimes challenging.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Besides just fighting cancer during a pandemic, it’s been challenging navigating running a business out of my office and also using a few apps to find other customers and also for payment methods. Also because I still have many doctor’s appointments like my monthly antihormone treatments or acupuncture sessions that I receive from MD Anderson, it’s tough working around these appointments and also being there for my husband and 10-year-old daughter.

As you know, we’re big fans of Cypress Scar Tissue Massage. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I get requests for helping people get relief from scar tissue caused by old injuries or surgeries. The scars are often ropelike and hard and I’m able to make them softer, more pliable, and can improve the appearance of them over time. I also do your typical Swedish, deep tissue or sports massage which can help with overall wellness.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Don’t overthink it. Everyone has to start from somewhere. There will be days or weeks where you think you’ve failed, but there’s always tomorrow or the next week for a do-over.
